“Had a Lovely Time”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012

We spent the night here for our 5th anniversary, and had a fab time. My husband went to a lot of trouble to arrange romantic suprises for me such as flowers and balloons in the room and one of my presents hidden in the draw. The hotel helped him a lot and he said they were fab to work with.

The room was nice, (we stayed in the modern section) what we have come to expect from Q hotels really. We had the romance package, and the chocolates they give you are from hotel Chocolate, and the Champagne is Lanson not some local Cava, it was all really nice.

We used the spa facilities and they were nice and clean and bright.

The grounds were really pretty it was nice to take a little walk around.

We went for dinner at the brasserie, it wasn't as intimate as some of the other Q hotels that we have visited, and the menue set up was completely different. Despite this the food was great and our waitress was very friendly.

As part of our package, we had a complmentary breakfast in our room. The breakfast was just ok as the food was only warm and I like my food really hot.
Crewe was very impressive and we had a fantastic time, but I prefer the intimacy of some of the smaller Q Hotels we have visited.

Room Tip: If your asking for an upgraded room, and you don't like an older style (i.e. 4 poster jacobian r...

Just had a spa break weekend at Crewe Hall and would recommend it to anyone. The Hall itself is steeped in history and very impressive. The newer part of the hotel has been done very tastefully and the room we stayed in was outstanding.
The spa treatments were wonderful and the staff helpful and professional, the actual leisure facilities are a bit behind the times and there is not a lot on offer apart from a dated sauna and swimming pool, however all is clean and adequate.
Food was included in the price and lunch was lovely, the evening meal however was a bit of a let down and we were not served with the items on the menu, however after speaking to the Brasserie Manager we were served free desserts. Can not fault the breakfast or the service by the staff.
The drinks were reasonably priced and all in all I loved it.

Room Tip: Although a lot of people want to stay in the older rooms to get a feel for the character of the buil...

I stayed at Crewe hall for one night as part of a conference, after staying earlier in the year also. The first thing that strikes you as you enter is the long driveway up to the hotel, which is a lovely grand entrance.

The rooms were well equipped, wifi in each room and a decent sized room ,larger than normal. We stayed in the newer section of the hotel, which was nearer to the fitness centre.
The centre is well equipped, with a gym, swimming pool, sauna, spa, monsoon shower and tennis courts all available for use by residents.

The conference room we were in was a bit cold however the period features made the room a more elegant meeting room than the usual sterile rooms.
I will look to return to Crewe hall and would recommend to others.

Room Tip: If you want a room with character, ask if you can be in the old part of the hotel itself.

Crewe Hall is lovely. It looks as though it was originally built for a wealthy family a long time ago. The approach to the hotel is by a long drive and the entrance hall is imposing. When you arrive there is promise of a very good stay. Most of the hotel is modern but the old and grand entrance makes the hotel feel special.

Our room was comfortable. The staff were friendly and helpful and the food was good. Unfortunately the vegetarian options were massively full of calories. We stayed three nights and I was struggling with the menu. However, most people eat meat and are happy to indulge when they are staying away so I would not think that many people would be put off by the menu although I was.

If you do not mind putting on a few pounds and inches around the middle I would recommend staying at this hotel.

Dear Hilary P,
Thank you for your kind review.
Crewe Hall was originally built for Lord Crewe and is steeped in history, architecture and grandeur. On your next visit please do ask for a tour as there is so much to see from our chapel to the parlours and state rooms.
Our Brasserie restaurant has been awarded an AA rosette for the quality and choice of food available. Naturally our chefs have access to hundreds of ingredients so should you not find anything on the menu that appeals then please do ask and we can cook something bespoke for you.
Kind regards

I attended, with a friend, a few weeks ago as we had been treated to a Spa Day. The treatments were great and very relaxing and the facilities were great.
A special mention goes to the Staff, all of whom were very friendly. Lauren, who was working in the Basserie, where we ate lunch, was really lovely and very attentive.
I would definitely recommend both the Spa and the Restaurant to family and friends.

Nice hotel this.

Checking in was simple and straight forward, with all the staff being friendly.

My room was in the old part of the hall, and it was great. The bedroom was full of character, lots of furniture that fit with the history of the room, but without it feeling old or like a museum! The room was spotless, and the bed comfy.

Similarly the bathroom was spotlessly clean, and had a separate shower and bath.

Very nice room, couldn't complain at all.

Be aware that the hotel is a fair distance from another pub or restaurant, so a car or taxi would be essential.

The restaurant was in the new part of the hotel, and was fairly sterile, having bright lighting, and little soft furniture. Don't get me wrong, it's ok, but not if you would like somewhere comfy (other than your room) to wind down after a day at work. Food served was tasty and priced as you would expect for a hotel like this. Similarly, if you'd like to watch the match, there isn't a tv in the bar either! Apparently it was removed due to complaints......but not sure I buy that!

The breakfast was delicious, thoroughly recommended!

I'll be back!

Room Tip: Don't miss the breakfast, it's delicious!!

Dear Joolsleeds,
I'm pleased that you enjoyed your recent stay at Crewe Hall. With 26 bedrooms situated within the more historic building and a further 91 bedrooms in our new wings we have bedrooms that appeal to everyone. Our Brasserie is located within the newer element of Crewe Hall and has been awarded a rosette by the AA for the quality of both food and service. Due to the nature of the Brasserie and Bar a TV is no longer available as this may disrupt guests dining in the Brasserie.
I look forward to welcoming you back soon.
Kind regards

A group of 8 of us stayed for a spa break. The hotel was wonderful, food was lovely and the staff were friendly. The spa treatments were lovely. My only niggle is that our 50 minute treatments only lasted 30 minutes which was very disappointing (the only reason I haven't given this a score of 5 out of 5).
