“very nice eatery”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 12, 2013

2nd visit to the Botanist. All ill say is superb food, reasonably priced, well worth going for a bite to eat.

went with partner for birthday meal on the 6th September. Food again was fantastic, service was exceptional, and the live music only enhanced the dining experience

“A great first visit and I will be back”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

10 of us went for lunch across 3 generations. The food choice for the youngsters was limited but the quality of everyone's meal was excellent.
The staff were brilliant and very attentive.
A little disappointing to be moved a few minutes before we were going to leave as they wanted to give the table to someone else but we had been there 3 hours!

“Fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2013 via mobile

We booked a table a few weeks ago for Saturday night as it gets quite busy we arrived about 20 mins early so we could have a drink first. I was expecting it to be quite pricey but in fact I was pleasantly surprised with my round. Bang on 8pm (the time we booked) the hostess found us and seated us. We actually thought we would have to wait as it was so busy but we didn't which was very good. Straight away we ordered the cocktails can I just say "the botanist" vodka based was amazing and helped contribute to my hangover this am. The food...we had actually been so looking forward to the steak Diane which most of us ordered & it did not disappoint. Cooked to perfection it was so nice. One of my friends had the steak pie, he let me try some that too was amazing. Although the steak Diane is a Saturday special if I go back on a different night il be having the pie which is on the main menu. The kebabs looked interesting too. All in all the service I thought was outstanding we had a young girl she was so attentive asking if we were having a nice meal which I always like. Our bill arrived and considering what we drank and ate I was really chuffed with. I've spent far more on food and enjoyed it far less. Had a lovely evening and would love to return. My only issue is we live miles away and were only in the area for the car festival in wilmslow. I'm gutted we don't live in nearer can you please open one of these restaurants in Preston. Thanks. X

“Possibly the worst meal ever”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 7, 2013

I never really grasped the concept of dining whilst what appears to be a nightclub scene occurs just metres away from you. Understandably it was busy as it was a Saturday night, we were informed by the hostess that there were no tables inside however we could dine outside, it was very cold however we were informed that there were heaters and blankets! We sat down and ordered, the heater was inadequate and so we moved tables to the upper tier of the outside dining area. The food arrived swiftly, however less than generous portions were produced, and we waited around 5 minutes before cutlery was given to us. If the restaurant is busy, you are most definitely forgotten about, especially if you are dining outside. I will definitely not be going back there to eat.

“Ladies Lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 5, 2013 via mobile

Of course there were guys there too, but my sister has wanted to try this restaurant for a while. We all 3 had a sort of ploughmans lunch, choose four items from a list of about 20 items. Everything was delicious, the non alcoholic drinks were amazing. The staff were attentive, and the manager came by to make sure we were happy.
