“consistently good food.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 10, 2013

As a family we regularly drive quite a distance to eat here, or have take-away. it is certainly the best chippy we have found in the area. Not the cheapest but the fish is always first class and food generally tasty. The restaurant is cheerful and staff always friendly though the bench type seating is not the comfiest!! The restaurant is licensed so if you wish you can enjoy a bottle of wine with your meal too.We have taken family and friends from North Wales and even Australia to enjoy this chip shop treat!! And they were greatly impressed!

“Not as great as its reputation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2013 via mobile

Nice little fish shop just on the edge of the village, we've been here a few times and the quality of the food seems good, unfortunately the fish is nearly always overcooked, and so tough and chewy. I've even asked for it to be slightly less well cooked but that turned out the same. Chips are normally nice and homemade tartar sauce is good. Stop overlooking the fish!!!

“Cracking British chippy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2013

Myself and colleagues are regular visitors to this chippy. We eat both in and take away. But only this week have I found myself eating there every day and found the food to be of the highest quality. Along with the service and is value for money. Even though this chippy is in expensive Alderly Edge for a fiver u can get a good lunch with more than enough to last the full day.

“The Best bar none”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

I'm a regular visitor to Foster's even though there are numerous Fish n Chip shops in my town (approx 6 miles away).
I challenge anyone to say the Fish and chips they receive at Fosters are not the best they have ever tasted.
They do an eating challenge as well, although I've not been brave enough to attempt it.
You can also take your own booze in as well if you want to make a bit of a night of it. Small corkage charge per bottle (bring a big bottle) !!!

“Always worth going out of your way to visit”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 4, 2013

Whenever flying from Manchester airport, I always travel the 5 miles or so from the airport the night before to visit the best fish & chip shop I have come across. Wide, varied menu, every meal I have ever had from Fosters has been of the highest quality. Very friendly staff, always a delight to visit.
