“Wonderful participant in the annual Wisbech Rose Fair.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

A lovely Norman Church which is a principal participant in the annual Wisbech Rose Fair. We visited when preparations for this year's Fair were in full swing - masses of blooms in a variety of arrangements and a wonderful perfume pervading the church. Unfortunately we could not stay to see the Fair when opened. Outside were lots of stalls being made ready, all for the 4-day Fair. Will have to choose the right day to visit another year.

“A fine church and library...”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2012

This Norman church is the reason for the Rosefair festival (originally funds were raised for repairs to the church tower).
The grounds are full of flower gardens and a fountain and garden for the visually impaired.
Inside the building there is a full size brass effigy of Sir Thomas de Braunstone (died 1401), constable of Wisbech Castle. In the Chancel there are 17th and 18th century memorials and a large Royal Coat of Arms also dating from the 17th century.
Samual Pepys visited the church in the 1660s and commented on the ..'fine church and library'...
A FEPOW ( Far East Prisoners of War) memorial to those killed during 1939-45 was dedicated in 1985, many of those serving came from Wisbech and other Cambridgeshire parishes.
During the Rosefair in July there are many floral displays and stalls.

The large free carpark to the rear of the church is convenient for the town centre.

The Wisbech & Fenland museum next door is well worth a visit (admission free).
