“What a gem of a find”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 21, 2013 via mobile

Ended up here by panic on Sunday. Had booked somewhere else that let us down on arrival. Popped onto trip adviser for inspiration and found the reviews for this place, phoned and drove straight over.
Was a little confused as to if we had the right place when the satnav said we had arrived, but we found this small restaurant tucked away in a very pleasant courtyard.
The guy that served us was so informative and helpful as well as friendly, I think his name was jackie.
He explained that we had just made it in time for the buffet menu. Hating doing the queue with a plate thing I was really pleased when we found that you just order from a menu and they serve it.
We had a real mixture of starters, all of which were so nice and fresh tasting and presented well, we then ordered our mains and was shocked how tasty and ungreasy they were. One of our party is a veggie and she was amazed at such a good varied selection of meals available for a carrot chomper, something she advises is quite rare.
We ate every mortal, with something of a struggle, and then jackie asked if we would like to order more!,!!!! We declined saying we was well and truly satisfied.
Chinese meals can be very expensive, not here, £80.40 for 4 adults including a couple of beers a couple of ciders and a few soft drinks......BARGAIN.
We would definitely recommend this hidden gem, and will be regular visitors from now on.

“Fab setting, great food, nice atmosphere”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2013

Tucked away in a little courtyard sits the Long Yuen Court chinese restaurant and takeaway.

I've heard really great things about this place so was looking forward to trying it.

I love the look of it, inside and out, it has a very warm and authentic feel about it. A lot of other local chinese restaurants and either a bit sterile or a bit fake feeling.

Service was excellent, very warm and friendly. I really cannot fault the staff at all, great attention paid at all times.

Food was swiftly prepared and arrived hot and beautifully presented. The chicken skewers with satay sauce arrived in a sizzling plate which was an unexpected but pleasant surprise.

The prawn toasts were more like prawn doorsteps!

All in all a very enjoyable meal and we will return here for takeaways in the future.

Top tip: make sure you book! They were turning people away who turned up on the off chance.

“Great Food and Maitre D'hote”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated with a 'rural' feel. It holds a 5* hygiene rating too.The food is very fresh and the seafood is excellent. The Maitre d'hote is very helpful and recommended dishes that I would never otherwise have chosen which turned out to be wonderful and tasty. The prices are reasonable and the wine is not expensive at all.
I highly recommend people to pay it a visit. I just wish I lived closer as I would eat there every week.

“Always an excellent meal”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 1, 2013 via mobile

We have had takeaways from here since Jackie took over and have never once been disappointed. The food is always excellent, great flavours, fresh and tasty. From a meal for ten to just the two of us, no one has had a bad meal in fact when we arrange a Chinese for a family get together, its always voted to come to us because everyone always enjoys a takeaway from here. Great customer service, short waiting times for delivery and reasonably priced. I always recommend Long Yeun Court to neighbours and friends.
