Just a short drive to Cambridge. The owner went out of her way to make us both very comfortable. The breakfast provided was lovely and the cottage has every amenity you could need for a relaxing weekend.
Highly recommended.

What a find, I'm almost tempted not to say anything as this special place will be out and then I won't get to stay again for all the bookings!!

The Blue Cow is a converted barn .. it's been refurbished so tastefully and with such feeling that it really has the personal touch and nothing has been spared. It's a self contained unit with a bedroom, sitting room, kitchen and bathroom and is a home away from home. It was just what we needed after I'd spent a week in a Chinese hotel!!

Mila was friendly when we booked and because we were meant to be going hot air ballooning at dawn she'd left us croissants and food we could eat on the move.

I would heartily recommend The Blue Cow for a relaxing retreat all by yourself wawy from the hubub!!!

  • Liked — It was a home away from home
  • Disliked — the bathroom was a bit chilly and there's no bath to luxuriate - but it wasn't a problem really I'm just saying cos I have to!!

Amazing bed and breakfast, just 5 miles outside of Cambridge in an idyllic semi-rural setting. The accommodation is provided in a self-contained cottage, with bedroom, large lounge, kitchen and shower room. The cottage is set amidst a beautiful garden, and has an off-street parking space available. The host asks you what you would like for breakfast, and this is then left out in the cottage kitchen for you to eat the next morning! For us, two full English breakfasts; lovely eggs, bacon sausages, mushrooms and tomatoes left out for us, which we then cooked at our leisure in the morning.

Bliss! No-one telling you what time you need be up in the morning.... and ultimate privacy! In addition, when you leave to explore the next day, the washing up is done while you are out! Even better, the homely touches, such as dressing gowns and nice toiletries left in place to help us pampered guests unwind!

Easy access to Cambridge by a local bus, taking just 20 minutes, or 10 minutes if you have your own car and want to brave parking! Gorgeous pub nearby with excellent dinners and choices of ales and wines.

We will be back, but hope that Cambridge's best kept secret is still available! No better place for a Cambridge romantic break.

  • Liked — Self-cotained cottage, but with the b&b service
  • Disliked — work on Monday meant I had to go home....
