“Good value for money but very dated.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

We have been to Jennie Wren's on a couple of occasions - both times at lunch over the weekend. There are always other customers in there and it obviously has a loyal clientele.
The menu is ordinary for a cafe and the food is good value for money with some great homebaked items, however I was put off by the decor.
The cafe is in a great location off the market square and it has the most room out of all of the cafes in Winslow, but there is quaint and then there is plain dated. I like the idea of the classic "twee" tea room remaining popular - I find that they have a certain nostalgic elegance, but in this case I think we are at a mid-point where it is not what you'd expect from a classic tea room and it is not a modern cafe, just something a bit drab and dated in-between.
It's a shame - decent food and value for money, but my surroundings ruined my appetite.

“A Classic Tea room”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

This tea room is not a posh place with your waiters dressed in uniform but a good family place to have some lovely homemade cakes with a friendly smile.I have been going there since my children were young and still go there now there adults.
This is a very popular place for cyclist at the weekends so can be a bit busy but shows how good it is with the prices very reasonable and food lovely .
It is situated in Winslow Market sq where every 1st Sunday of the month there is a local produce market with local food, meats ,jams ,veg ,cheese etc and Jenny Wren is very busy there.
So do drop in as families are very welcome with a small toy area for children

“Value for money and a friendly café”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2013

Quite a basic café, but not everyone wants decaf frappuccinos, leather sofas and Tracy Chapman playing on surround sound. You're not paying a small fortune for fancy surroundings, you're paying a decent price for a good cup of tea and a slice of cake.
We often visit when we're out and about on our bicycles and have always found the staff friendly and helpful. Go and enjoy a proper independent café before Starbucks swallows us up.

Excellent tea rooms in the market square. all food home made and cooked to order. Excellent service. If parking in the square don't forget to put a ticket in your car.

“Traditional and friendly”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

I don't agree with the last couple of reviews, the young girls who work her are always a delight, they are young and friendly and always very willing.
The cakes are lovely and the delicious scones are served warm. The tea is always very generously served in a large proper tea pot and the sandwiches freshly made and excellent value for money.
We visit regularly with our motor bike group and they always make bikers and cyclists very welcome.
If you are looking for a proper old fashioned tea rooms this is the place!
