“Fantastic Friendly Hotel, Amazing Dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2014

We stayed at this hotel after a day trip to Oxford, we was greeted and shown to one of the new rooms by the very friendly Charlotte. The room was beautiful and had everything we need, including a lovely big bathroom. We had dinner at the hotel, my husband had the ribeye steak which he couldn't say enough about and I had the slow cooked blade of beef which was both amazing, all the staff were very friendly and we will definitely be going back.

Saw this hotel on groupon and booked as it was ideally situated for a visit to Bicester village and Waddesdon Manor . On arrival at 2pm we were told our room wasn't quite ready and would we like to take advantage of the good weather and visit Waddesdon Manor Gardens with a complimentary pass. This we did (well worth a visit). On our return we were shown to our room in the newly refurbished stable block and we weren't disappointed. The offer also included an evening meal voucher and breakfast and both meals were of an excellent standard. Service at breakfast was slightly disorganised with some people being served out of turn but this was not a major problem and may be down to everybody arriving at the same time. All staff were polite and accommodating and I would definitely stop here again .when in the area

Lovely hotel in an idillic location, first impressions when you pull in are fantastic with a great welcoming reception from staff on checking in, fast forward to Dinner Time ... This it sadly where it started to fall apart, greeted and my drink order taken then a 20 minute wait before my food order was taken and it wasn't very busy ... over priced for the mere morsel that arrived on the plate, managed to have one mouthful before I was asked is your food alright? I said yes although I had only had one taste! There was a small party making enough noise to wake the dead so my cue to get off to bed ..... Breakfast it would appear that juices, croissants etc. don't appear until enough guest are present, I sat for 10 mins hoping someone would turn up, but they didn't, I had to go and find them ... Great room, no complaints there at all, worth every penny, just a little let down by the food and service a bit more attention to detail please for the in excess of £100 BnB rate!!

As a business we use the Hotel for entertaining, and to accommodate overseas guests . The coach house is excellent for company training or a special occasion due to the natural light and temperature. The new rooms are very " boutique" like and quiet. GREAT HOTEL GREAT STAFF...go get aquainted , you will not be let down

15 members of our family visited the five arrows to celebrate our father's 80th birthday, and could not have chosen a better venue.

The hotel is beautiful and quirky, with every guest room different, and the lounge/reception area warm and welcoming. We pre-arranged the menu for our evening celebration meal, and everybody agreed that the food was absolutely exquisite. Breakfast was equally delicious, with a good selection of pastries, fruits and cooked options.

However, what impressed us most about our stay was the staff. Without exception, every encounter with the staff was so friendly, and we were made to feel so welcome. The private dinning area was decorated for us just perfectly, and from the chef bidding us good morning as our paths crossed outside, through the attentive breakfast team to the more Senior staff that looked after us with such good cheer on Saturday evening, the answer to any request was always yes and they all worked so hard to ensure everything was spot on.

I would have no hesitation in recommending the Five Arrows for any occassion, and hope that we have an excuse to stay there again very soon.

Stayed here in late October and dined in restaurant. Visiting the Waddesdon estate the following day, before travelling to Pinewood Studios. First visit to Five Arrows and the location is very convenient, the building attractive. The accommodation was fine - above average, but slightly disappointing. The restaurant experience was excellent, hence the score. re the accommodation: the room althoguh supposedly a superior room was tired, with scuffs and scrapes visible. Lumpy, lopsided bed/mattress; and some noise from the road (though not as bad as some reviewers have indicated). We were told the windows were triple glazed, but they didn't appear to be (secondary glazing retro-fitted). The food, and service and presentation, was very good. The restaurant manager / duty manager was very good and deserves special mention. On checkout we noticed another pair of guests were having problems with their bill, so we found that somewhat off-putting. Inconsistent service at check out did seem to be a problem. Overall worth staying, especially if you can secure a good deal.

This was a surprise treat for my other half on his birthday. I was looking for somewhere traditional and comfortable and the Five arrows fitted the bill perfectly.
We were given one of the new rooms across the courtyard. This was cosy, clean and inviting with a lovely big bathroom and efficient shower over the bath.
We ordered the rib eye for dinner which melted in the mouth.
Service from the staff was professional and friendly, and breakfast excellent.
I would recommend this hotel to my friends especially if on one of their special offers. Really good value for money.
