“Wonderful afternoon tea experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed yesterday NEW via mobile

I took a friend here for afternoon tea as a birthday treat. It was a wonderful experience largely because of the high level of service provided by a gentleman named Cameron. He had excellent knowledge of the vast teas available and took the time to go through tees and make recommendations to accompany the food on offer. He was also very attentive even though the afternoon tea service was quite busy. The location was beautiful and a perfect setting for a lovely afternoon. Had it not begun to rain we would have loved to have taken a stroll around the beautiful grounds. Overall, a wonderful experience and the best afternoon tea I have had.

My partner surprised me with a night at Stoke Park. It was a late booking. He booked it 5 days before our visit. Our booking included dinner. Little did weknow we would be eating in all that can be descibed as a diner !!!! I think the hotel should point out when you book that dinner us not in the main restaurant. The food was nice but not amazing but as you can imagine sitting in a cafe/diner takes the shine off an expensive stay in a 5 star hotel. I could have quite frankly sat there in jeans and t shirt. The restaurant is used in the day as a cafe for the spa and sports area. Our room was lovely but overall I was disappointed. It also lacks a nice area to sit and have a drink. The bars either have golfing groups or you have to sit in a formal area more suited to afternoon tea. The service in the bar was lacking. This hotel is trying to be all things to all men and misses the point. Totally disappointed.

My fiancé and I had a 3pm reservation for afternoon tea on Friday 1st May.

We were so impressed by the service we received that we wanted to send in some feedback. On arrival we were a little apprehensive that the venue may be a little pretentious for our taste, however we were immediately made feel very welcome and at ease.

Which brings me to the star of the show. Our server Cameron. He was exquisite. 5 stars. Amazing. He is clearly so knowledgeable and passionate about his teas and about providing a first class service.

His advice and recommendations about your teas meant we were able to make the absolute most of the experience. I tried things that I would never normally go for based on his advice which meant the scones and sandwiches and sweets tastes even better with the right compliment!

We felt bad for monopolising his time, but he was so knowledgable about the whole tea supply chain & we were so curious! He sold us on the other restaurants and facilities at the hotel and we are already looking in to our return visit.

The afternoon was a Mother's Day gift and we were not carrying any cash which meant we couldn't leave a tip and for this we were deeply regretful. Hopefully this feedback will go some way in making up for that. He is a credit to the establishment and truly excellent and what he does. We look forward to our return visit.

We had a lovely one night "Sunday Indulgence" stay here. Glorious supper at Humphrys, a beautiful room (the bathroom made the room really - wow- glorious!) and a very lovely massage the next morning, after a totally delicious (and large!) breakfast! Breakfast was an absolute highlight for me - love places that offer up kippers, haddock and eggs benedict as options - AND waffles and / or french toast was included as part of the continental too. Heavenly way to start a day!

Room Tip: If you want a glorious bath and bathroom, ask for the Hastings room.

What a delightful luxury and stately, country hotel/spa. The staff are attentive and committed to excellent service. The rooms are large and marvellous... The hotel drawing rooms, the restaurant, the palatial grounds, spa and all facilities are excellent.... I loved the whole experience and will return time and again.... Thank you Stoke Park... Your service is TOP................. I did not see the rooms in the new building but the Mansion was fabulous... I am rarely just thrilled with a hotel and could not fault this one... I stayed for 2 nights with my family, will stay much longer next time...

Room Tip: I loved the Mansion....

We booked Stoke Park for a birthday afternoon tea and weren't disappointed. We're experienced afternoon tea-ers so we hadn't considered that Stoke Park would be much different from other 5 star scone purveyors. We were wrong. The service was great and the mini lecture to explain the many tea types was quite entertaining - we couldn't quite fathom how their costs didn't spiral out of control as the maitre d' offered / insisted we had a suitable tea for each course.

So, 9 of us sampled up to three teas each, all steeped to perfect on a separare table. It was quite a ceremony.

The sandwiches were tasty and had a few interesting fillings rather than just plain smoked salmon/cucumber. The scones were nice if a bit small so they were quite 'crusty. And the cake selection as course 3, left us regretting stuffnig so many sandwiches!

The left iover cakes were duly packaged beautifully for us to take home to less fortunate friends and family.

Great afternoon. At £27.50 it's not the cheapest afternoon tea, but it is good value.

The only slight downside was were were on one long formal table so it was hard to chat to everyone (and maybe a sofa-type table would have been a bit more comfortable).

What a fantastic place from start to finish.

I attended this hotel on 23rd April for a golf day with AutoProtect and all I can say is that it was marvellous. The weather was great, hotel beautiful with large beautiful rooms. Food was fantastic too and service was second to none.

I would recommend this place to anyone.
