“Fantastically relaxing spa day”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2012 via mobile

We spent the whole day at Stoke Park Club. From start to finish it was superb. Great service, facilities and atmosphere. We had two treatments each - Indian head massage & aromatherapy massage. I thought it would be a bit much, but I loved every minute of it.

The only downside after such a lovely day was trying to get home on the M25!

5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 18, 2012

We have just spent 3 days and nights here on a family retreat package, February Half Term 2012.

The hotel is lovely and it is all you expect. It is a lovely setting surround by a first class golf course.

As a family we needed a break so we just wanted to relax and for this Stoke Park was perfect. . We had two executive rooms in the Pavillion which were modern, and spacious with very nice bathrooms with large showers and baths. The family retreat included breakfast and unlimited movies, as well as use of the pool, and tennis courts, and spa for us. The staff are helpful and polite, we were moved after an air conditioning fault in our room, and a couple of other small issues were solved swiftly.

The restaurants are a real treat. We ate in the fine dinning restaurant, on the first night, it was excellent and the other two nights we ate in the San Marco in the Pavillion and this food was lovely too - made all the more interesting as Judi Dench and Albert Finney were at the next table!

We both had a massage in the spa but there was only one slot each, they were busy with packages so booking in advance would be a tip. The spa has a waiting/relaxing area with treatment rooms off, and the steam rooms are in the poolside within the female and male areas. The pool is large with relaxing beds around.

The only downside was the restrictions on the children. Ours were 12 and 14, they had their own room and they eat with us as adults, they are used to travelling and behaving and indeed like the quiet of a spa environment. However under 16s were not permitted to use the pool outside of designated “splash” times and also had to be accompanied. As it was half term the splash times were quite busy and hence not really the relaxing environment we would have liked. I fully understand the need for splash times but I think discretion should be used for older children especially as their insurance does not permit the under 14s having any minor spa treatments from the teenage list, much to my daughters disappointment as well.

In summary we would definitely recommend the hotel but with older children whom are neither young nor adult and who yearn to enjoy the spa environment it cannot be fully utilized but even so, they would want to return.

A stay at Stoke Park is to be highly recommended. The staff are very attentive and we were shown to our luxurious room complete with four poster bed, very large bathroom and welcoming open fire for a cold January day. The afternoon tea was excellent in a relaxing atmosphere and real first class service and food. The spa added to the brilliant break with excellent massages from vey skillful therapists, a large swimming pool with lovely open aspect onto the grounds, and peaceful relaxation areas. If you have time it is rewarding to explore the mansion and the heritage trail with some real historical surprises

Warm friendly staff, genuine and willing to help.

Beautiful grounds that make you feel you are far away from London! You can choose between old, traditional rooms in the Mansion building or newer trendier rooms in the Pavilion building.
We stayed in the newer building, Pavilion and loved our room- the style is very James Bond- like (reflecting the fact that some James Bond films have been filmed here)!

Food was good in the Italian restaurant and the lounge areas are lovely in the Mansion.

Would highly recommend a stay here as part of a luxury weekend break for couples and make full use of spa too!

Room Tip: Pavilion building has modern rooms which are still warm and cosy. Mansion has older rooms- more tra...

I had the pleasure of having an afternoon tea baby shower at Stoke Park. The staff were amazing, so helpful, attentive a real first class service. Highly recommended. The best cream tea I or any of the other 10 guests have ever had, and in such a beautiful location.

Stoke Park is a wonderful hotel with a great history. We upgraded to the junior suite and it was delightful room with 4 poster bed, comfotable sofa, open fire and huge bathroom. Each room seems to be named after part of the hotels history. We stayed in the Sir Edward Coke room which had a wonderful view of the golf course from the large outdoor balcony.

The was amazing, the only fault a few large chips in the enamel on the sink, but didn't detract from the stay. The restaurant was excellent and good value for the level of food considering it was in a hotel Although it was an expensive treat, I would dedinately look at returning again for a romantic get away.

Staff were fantastic. Service was second to none! Doors were always opened for us. Real 5 star!

I have just stayed at this hotel for 2 days and 1 night with work on a conference and I was really impressed. We do stay at lovely hotels including Chewton Glen in the past but this is the best so far!

It was 5* luxury in my opinion and the food was exquisite. HOWEVER, it all came with NO stuffiness that you can get at 5* hotels, also even though the food was divine and amazing it was also not too fussy (which is great for people like me that like 'normal' food). I enjoyed the tornedos of beef on the evening and the salmon and then the lamb and mini shepherds pie for the lunches! Delicious!!!

ALL the staff were all lovely, so attentive and couldnt do enough, YET no intrusive and once more I must say again NOT stuffy.

My room (Hastings) was lovely, huge room, huge bed (very comfty) and amzing bathroom with marble sunken 6 ft bath and marble shower that could fit 4!

EXCELLENT EXCELLENT EXCELLENT!

Thank you.
