“Number One”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2014

If there were 200 hotels in Buckingham my guess is that Villiers would still be Number One. Everything about this typical English coaching inn was just right
Starting with the rooms overlooking the court yard which were beautifully furnished in a sort of American colonial meets English Tudor style and much more "roomy" that the usual chain hotel
Right in the centre of the town, it is ideal for exploring "middle England"
The staff could not be more friendly and last but by no means least ,the food was fantastic. The £23 Market menu was a credit to the chef (the scallop risotto was superb and the surf and turf had the best steak I have had in ages) breakfast was cooked to order and served at the table (not buffet --HOORAY!)
Not only that the under cover car park was free!
One last thing --we arrived at 11.30 knowing check in was 2pm but after some effort they found us a room right then. Excellent start to the stay
Cannot wait to return

Room Tip: ask for a second floor room at the back

Stayed in this hotel for one night while stopping to visit Bletchley Park and seeing an old friend. Excellent service, helpful, friendly staff, and beautiful double room. Included breakfast, wifi and parking. Terrific location and able to walk everywhere.

We stayed here on a two night mini break with tickets to visit Bletchley Park included. The hotel is centrally located in Buckingham and was easy to find. The staff were very welcoming and helpful.
Restaurant menu had sufficient variety for all and the food was well presented and tasted great. Our room was spacious and comfortable.

This hotel is ideally located to visit local area attractions, we visited the designer outlet in Bicester, Bletchley Park and Blenheim Palace. There were still places to see so we may well be visiting again.

The hotel is perfectly situated in the centre of the town, yet in a very quiet location. There are two car parks - one under cover, on site - a real bonus for a central hotel, and the second only 50 metres away. All the staff were very friendly and gave excellent service, including a very warm welcome. The room was spacious, well-appointed and comfortable. The food is superb - a really good choice for dinner on both the a la carte and Market Place menus. There was a very comprehensive breakfast menu with full flexibility for the interchange of any items.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 30, 2014

The hotel is located in the centre of Buckingham with easy access to a nice range of restaurants nearby. Parking on site is limited, but the hotel does have a 2nd car park just 50 metres away. The staff are ever so friendly and helpful, but the sleep quality is not good. The rooms are hot and there is plenty of noise that comes in through the open windows. Add to that overly soft beds and you end up with rather a poor nights sleep. A shame, because otherwise it's a nice place to spend a day or two. Excellent breakfast of fresh produce.

Popped in today to escape the rain & enjoyed a drink in the public bar area. The young man behind the bar was very professional & really seemed to be enjoying his job. Nice atmosphere in the bar that was serving a wide age of ages.

We stayed via a deal with SAGA Classics. Good room, staff pleasant and food good. A little disappointed that the menu was limited under this deal and the same dishes appeared every evening. It had advertised 2 Rosettes so we were expecting a good choice!

Room Tip: Think we stayed in Room 101. Quite spacious and very comfortable.
