“what road noise?”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 30, 2011

I stayed there on Easter Monday evening with my partner and 8 year old daughter. I booked it as we got one of the £15 rooms and what a bargain that was.
For breakfast we ate at the café in Tesco which was OK. I don't think that we would do that again. It was an inconvenience that we had to walk across a busy road for breakfast and would have been more convenient to have something on site. However it was £15 for the night. Speaking of the noise, due to the temperature we kept the window open, I can honestly say that I didn't hear the road at all and it was certainly busy on the Tuesday morning. A travelodge does what it say's on the tin. It is budget, no frills accommodation. Personally if it were more than £40 I would stay at a Premier Inn or a B & B. It's a clean bed and bathroom.

Room Tip: Don't go to Tesco for breakfast.

This hotel is right against a major truck route on one side and a truck park on the other. Road noise went until midnight and then started again at 6am, barely slept a wink. Why wouldn't they put in double glazing to keep out the noise. We left a night early as we couldn't stay there anymore.
The family room - second bed is uncomfortable..........

Good position right on the ring road. The room was clean, modern and typical of a budget hotel. The tesco just over the road and the service station on site were both useful. The one down side was the little chef which is adjacent is now closed down, this means a little inconvenience if you want to eat after an evening arrival at the hotel. They did offer a pre-pack breakfast box as an option which is useful.

I was in a roadside room on the ground floor and stayed for two nights, road noise was virtually non-existent.

Bottom line is if you need good value for money accommodation in or near Buckingham then this place ticks the box.

Okay no frill hotel. Rooms were not that bad as compared to other travelodges (some of the travelodge rooms are filthy). Reception staff was good and accommodating. Can stay there again but not for more than £20 per night.
Location is good if you have to travel next day morning.

Very helpfull staff, easy access and located just outside town centre. Major supermarket next door. We found the room quiet, even though we were on the main road side of the hotel. The bed was probably geting towards the end of its life with Travilodge but i have slept in a lot worse for a lot more money. Again unbeatable value.

Good Points : A good car park and the room was clean and well looked after. Ample space for 2 people in the family sized room.

Bad Points : The computer at the reception desk was often down and we had to reactivate the rooms key card twice. The lodge is right on a busy roundabout and the road noise is very bad at night if your room is facing that way (ours was).

We were so fed up of the noise by the third night that we left at 6.30am to drive home and finally get some sleep!

Ok for 1 night, but would not recommend for longer unless you can tolerate a lot of road noise.

If you can, get a room facing the car park.

We stayed here for three nights so that we could explore the old town of Buckingham. We were given a warm welcome at reception by Paulina who could not have been more helpful and nothing was too much trouble. She even fixed a sticking window for us!
Staying here over a Saturday night when a wedding party was staying, arriving back at the hotel by coach at 1am, happy, drunk and very loud was not a good idea!
The room was quite noisy anyway because of the traffic from a busy road and we needed to have the window open because it was very hot in the room.
It was very clean and was reasonably good value for money.
