Description: On the Good Food Guide since 2010 Family-run restaurant serving impressive food. Situated in the heart of Dunstable, there's a large car park just steps away from the restaurant. Chez Jerome is housed in a 15th Century timber-framed building and the decor certainly sets the mood. The layout of the restaurant is ideal and even allowed for small closed-off spaces where diners could feel secluded. Chez Jerome sources as much local produce as possible and the freshness and quality of their ingredients is apparent in the taste. A lovely touch by Chez Jerome is opening earlier for you if you want to eat before going to the cinema or theatre. All this, combined with professional yet friendly staff, first-rate dishes - in terms of quality, taste and presentation - and a great, warm, friendly atmosphere, ensures Chez Jerome's ongoing popularity as the ultimate local gem.Open for Lunch & Dinner Monday to Saturday Sunday open for Lunch from 12:00pm till 3pm (last orders) with live Contemporary Smooth Jazz

“Great recommendation for pre theatre meal”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

Friend recommended as a good place to eat before theatre. We decided on the 3 course £19.95 menu and was not disappointed. Friendly quick service and good quality food.

“French classics, done well - and so reasonable!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2013

A great experience - Chez Jerome would give many London restaurants a run for their money. They do simple classics - salade nicoise (with seared, fresh tuna!), steak and creme brulée - perfectly. Interestingly, many fine dining establishments make a miserable attempt at the humble creme brulée - not a problem here, Chez Jerome's was flawless. Portions were large and staff friendly. We had the three course set dinner, a snip at £19.95 on weekdays (it rises to a still reasonable £24.95 on Friday and Saturday). Incredible value for food of this quality. I'll be back.

“Great Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013

The interior of this restaurant is very nice, and the service was, at the start, very good. My sea bass fillets were cooked to perfection, as was my husbands cod. 2 others in our party had steak and one said hers was a little tough and the other said his medium-rare was slightly over-cooked. The starters were all highly rated. 2 nicoise salads, 1 x scallops and 1 x salmon. Our crepes dessert were also lovely. Slightly disappointing that when ordering desserts I asked if there was a dessert wine, the waitress said she didn't know and would check but never came back to us. I also asked for a top-up of water and this also didn't materialise. A shame as the rest of the evening had been so nice.

Chez jerome a beautiful little restaurant in Dunstable. The food is amazing recommend the filet de beouf and the crepe suzettes. The atmosphere is very comfortable and the staff are really welcoming polite and this all makes for a great time. Highly recommend this restaurant.

“Miserable service and food”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed June 19, 2013

We went here for a lunch for my sisters birthday. The food was bland and poor quality.
My niece had a steak which was so grizzly and inedible. My sister had a very long hair buried deep in her cheesecake (which was actually the nicest part of the meal and presented very well) but as three of us had it, it put us off eating ours.
They also had no children's style menu or suggestion of a deviation from the main menu. We weren't after chicken nuggets but maybe some alternatives or smaller portions.
The portions were large but not good and all five of us left food, which is unheard of for us.
Unfortunately we wouldn't return and I'm slightly surprised to see the glowing reviews on here. The staff couldn't even conjure up a smile between them which may have helped to make the poor food go down easier, but as they were sullen, this just made it worse.
