Owner description: All ski resorts have chair lifts, but ours take you to new heights. That’s what we mean when we say,” Refined by Nature.” Solitude Mountain Resort is located a short 40-minute drive from the Salt Lake International Airport. With over 1200 acres of skiable terrain, Solitude is one of Utah’s most intimate and inviting winter resorts. Over 500 inches of annual snowfall covers: 65 named trails, three bowls and groomers for every ability level. We also offer a Fun Park, as well as a Nordic Center. And don’t forget Honeycomb Canyon. It has some of the most awe inspiring, lift-served terrain in the country. With hardly any lift lines you won’t have to wait to find your Solitude. You’ll be deep in powder before you know it.

“Great place to visit winter or summer”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 25, 2012 via mobile

Primarily known for its spectacular powder and lack of lift lines in winter I have to say its just as beautiful in the summer. We did a girls trip out there and did some great hiking (and eating) used it as a base to drive to north to Yellowstone and Teton National Parks and south to Moab. Easy 15 minute drive over the pass to get to Park City in summer so shopping was fun too. Resort has great pool and hot tubs for après hiking and a couple of good restaurants
on the property plus good eats in town. Been there in the fall too and the color change gives Vermont a run for its money. We were a week early for the mountain bike season so check on dates if you are looking to really get a work out.
The 2 bed condo was very comfortable for 5 ladies nice to have the washer and dryer in the unit.

“Great Terrain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

Utah has the best snow. The terrain here is great. the automatic gates for the lifts usually help speed things along. You just need to pay attention or folks will move past you if they are not coordinating the lift lines.

“nice resort great snow”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2012

Utah gets some of the greatest snow on earth, when it decides to be a nice snow year, and Solitude is a great place to experience it. Just up the canyon and surrounded by a few other resorts, access is relatively easy although scary during winter storms. Bus access is also available.

“North American Alphorn Retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2012

I have been hosting the North American Alphorn Retreat for five years at Solitude. I will be booking again for the 6th Annual in August 2013. I wouldn’t be able to put this event on without the great staff of Solitude.
Food at St Bernard’s is fabulous. The Chefs have been able to cook for the group and deal with all the various food concerns effortlessly.
Having been to the Alpine regions in Europe Switzerland, Austria, Northern Italy, France and Bavaria at least a dozen times; Solitudes Alpine setting takes no back set and is a perfect fit for hosting the North American Alphorn Retreat.
