“A Peacefull Stay”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 23, 2013

This is an idea spot to get away for awhile and chill out. Midway in the Keys it is not that far from Key West or Islamorada. They have put some thought into some little ideas. Each morning fresh oranges are provided with breakfast. Each units has a juicer to make fresh OJ each morning. There is a small private beach, in-ground pool, boat slips, hammocks throughout the grounds, beach chairs, kayaks and grills.
This is not the Marriott or Hilton, but it is a nice place to kick back and stay. The units are clean and the staff is friendly.
My wife and I travel with a group of friends each year and the Conch Key Cottages are on my list to recommend for our next trip.

Room Tip: Three one bedroom cottages are on the beach front. Three two bedroom units are behind these cottage...

Conch Key cottages are located about ten minutes outside of Marathon, a good choice for a stay Mid-Keys. Don't expect luxury "resort" accomodations, but a more simple, cabin or cottage feel. It's a good spot to use as a home base but not necessarily a place that you'd want to just hang around all day. The pool was pleasant, warm, and plenty of seating in the sun or shade. The "beach" is more of a shove off point for the free kayaks provided. Be careful not to go during low tide or too close to shore with the kayaks as the soft muddy bay bottom is easy to get stuck in. The outdoor deck area is within earshot of the highway, but o.k. for an early morning place to read. No amazing views here, just a bay that often times smells from the decaying grasses. The room was comfortable and satisfactory, not spotless by any means. Housekeeping is only upon request and sometimes does not follow through. Breakfast was bagels, croissants, muffins and yogurt set out each morning. The best part of the whole experience was the fresh squeezed OJ every morning!!

Room Tip: Lower priced rooms are part of a four-plex building. Other rooms are individual cottages, with only...

The setting for Conch Key Cottages is beautiful, its on its own little island with a small beach one side and a decked area at the other side and while we were there it was lovely and peaceful, however the cleaner needs to sacked, skirting boards didnt look like theyd been cleaned ever, the side of the fridge was dirty, the wall behind the bedroom door was thick with dust, the floor in particular was slimy, etc etc the bedding didnt smell fresh it was disgusting. It also had a LOT of maintenance issues, it wouldnt take much between guests to give it a coat of paint.
It was such a shame as a could of been a little slice of paradise.

Definitely the quietest place (and that is good) we stayed this sojourn. We stayed in an older cottage (screened porch, living & bedroom w/ kitchen area) on the small and very shallow lagoon. Very easy access to diving at nearby Duck Key. We'd stay there again, as it is semi-close to some nice attractions, especially the Turtle Hospital.

....from reading previous reviews. Place is definitely hidden right off of US 1. Pictures online are deceiving. Most cottages are not waterfront, and are not individual units like portrayed. Most are simple rooms within a unit. The beachfront portrayed is more like a lagoon front, very small, and seemingly for those who paid for the "waterfront" units. Housekeeping could use some help, not as clean as expected. Kitchen areas were not clean, and could use some updating. Had to pay for ice. Continental breakfast was sometimes frozen, sometimes late (waiting for workers to arrive). It was OK, but not "very good" or "excellent". If you are looking for a rustic, off the beaten path, low key setting, this is it.

Room Tip: "Waterfront" are seemingly nicer, although I'm not sure they are worth the $.

Great little "resort",with nice amenities. Not large, but that's what's nice about it.A pool, small beach, kayaks and a deck to sit on and relax by the sea!Never felt crowded.Units have kitchens and grills.Bought some local fish and grilled one night, very nice.Everything seems well-maintained.

Room Tip: The smaller rooms are all in one adjoining building.Walls are a little "thin".A cottage th...

We can't say enough good things about this B&B. The hotel keepers were very polite, kind & accomodated every request we addressed.
Rooms are clean and nicely furnished.
The 1 bdr/1bth cottages can accomodate up to 4 people though they are quite small.
We stayed at the Cat's eye villa and the bedroom could hardly host our son's travel pack&play. The bathroom is tiny too. We were told upfront about this cottage size so no complains at all. I'd recommend it to a couple.
We loved this place so much that we decided to stay a few more days & we moved to the Baby Conch Cottage, pretty, bigger with private garden and screened lanai.
Every morning the staff serves continental breakfast with fresh oranges, croissants, jams, bagels & yogurt to take to your cottage.
The B&B has a little beach with shallow water which is perfect for kids. Of course I would not recommend to swim here, but one can rent complementary canoes and enjoy some fun. If you want to swim head to Sombrero beach, a 30 minutes drive or jump in the nice guest pool.
There's a fishing dock too.
It's conveniently located to grocery stores, Islamorada & Marathon.
We can't wait to come back for another relaxing vacation.
