“Adventurous, relaxing, fun - great honeymoon!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2013

My husband Dave and I had quite an adventure traveling to Xcalak, which is exactly what we wanted! Margo provided perfect-to-a-tee instructions on how to get there, which we needed because it was pitch black when we arrived. When you turn off the main road, you drive through the lush biosphere. Sin Duda lies between the ocean and a lagoon - so you have a ton of fun options to choose from: kayaking, snorkelling, swimming, biking, searching for an elusive cenote, etc.

When we arrived, Margo and Robert were out of town, but their associates Kate and Sabrina were the best hosts ever. Our stay was incredible, comfortable, and we loved getting to know the other guests and the neighbors, as well. We partied at Toby's Gringo party, sampled all the local foods we could, made friends with Christian and Rosa at Sweet y Picante across from the park where Dave painted a mural. And ate at the divine Leaky Palapa. Our hosts also took a trip with us to San Pedro, Belize, for the day - a speedboat ride away from Xcalak through XTC Dive Center. We searched for manatees on the way back at the reserve.

It was a wonderful and memorable trip. The people are just so wonderful and the place is really fun and relaxing. What more could you as for?

Our clean & lovely decorated room had a balcony facing the beach & that beautiful teal colored Caribbean ocean. We just had the screen door closed at night - going to sleep & waking to the sound of waves lapping on the shore & palms waving in the breeze.
We stroked off 3 items on our bucket list:-snorkeling in the Caribbean, staying in a jungle & seeing wild monkeys at small, less populated Mayan ruins!
Margo & Robert were the best! Easily accessible & so helpful. Thank you!

I decided to go to Xcalak by myself to check it out before I would return with the family and was very fortunate to end up at Sin Duda. It is a long trip but definitely worth it. Margo and Robert really make you feel at home. I enjoyed hanging out with them and the other guests having Margo's great Margaritas.

If you want a to relax on the beach, this is the place you're looking for. You can swim or kayak from Sin Duda's beach to some great spots for snorkeling with plenty of marine life; you will find all kinds of fish. If you like to go fishing or scuba diving they will connect you with the right people. There are available a couple of kayaks, snorkeling gear and a couple of bicycles for guests.

The room are very nice and well kept. Same as the beach that is was combed every morning. There is no electric service but they have solar panels and a generator so you can charge you tablets, cameras, etc. Having no streetlight makes it possible to see the most wonderful sky at night full of stars. I enjoyed walking down the beach at night and gaze at them and the moon's reflection on the ocean.

Most definitely planning to go back!

We loved SIN DUDA Villas, Everything about it was amazing, location location location! Everywhere one's eyes turned were sweet and relaxing. The architecture and the ambience
boasted uniquness and creativity. It was private and quiet and the owners Margo and Robert
were so welcoming and such good company. Their lives are filled with volumes of stories and adventures. The area has Jaguars and other unusual critters (Anteaters we were told). The diving was great and XTC Dive shop were accommadating and very flexible. The long drive to get there was worth the effort and Margo gives very detailed and accurate instructions.
Sin Duda Villas we will hold you close in our hearts and do hope to someday return!

It takes a little while to get to Sin Duda but the effort is well worth it. Miles of empty beach and coral heads inside the main reef to snorkel. Loads of fish and sea life. A quiet relaxing hideaway. Accomodations were exceptional with daily maid service. Load up with groceries at Tulum coming down and shop the local trucks that stop at the villa. They even have a "cake lady" who sells unbelievable homemade cakes. I'd go back tomorrow. Robert and Margo are wonderful hosts.

Been visiting Costa Maya for almost 20 years, and must admit that the "discovery" of Robert and Margo's wonderful Sin Duda villas has been one of the highlights of the overall experience. Their years of experience guarantees a Sin Duda visitor a fabulous, well-informed vacation that amplifies all that the Yucatan has to offer. Have enjoyed our stays with Margo and Robert more with every return trip, and can't imagine staying anywhere else while visiting the town of Xcalak.

I traveled to Sin Duda in December 2012. I was traveling with a fishing companion. I stayed in a Main floor room that had wonderful native artwork. The rooms were unique and main kitchen was perfect for making meals and sharing large dinners with newly made friends. One night we had Toby of Toby's come over and make Lobster dinner for 6. The overall hacienda feel was warm and made me feel at home. I walked out my screen door to the ocean and sandy beach. There was snorkeling equipment to borrow and I spent many hours enjoying the beach and warm water. The reef system is within a hundred yards, with countless fish of limitless color shape and sizes. I swam many meters with a beautiful permit fish. Margo and Robert were not there but the caretakers were and were quite friendly and helpful. I am planning my next trip to Sin Duda and Xcalak, this time I luckily will bring the wife and kids. Blanco Jose --
