“ABSOLUTLY GREAT!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 9, 2011

We stayed at this beautiful, exotic and great hotel, located just few minutes walking from main square, but perfectly situated, since here we had the peace we were looking for... gardens are beautiful, for all the nature lovers, honeymooners, love, peace, beauty! totally recomend this Quinta Regia... the food at Restaurate just great, we had caldo talpeños or someting like that, and pochuc, which recommend us the waiters and had been delisious!! The prefect place to be at least 2 nights!! The WiFi is great!! and free parking

Room: beautifully decorated with colonial style decorations and very roomy, had useful amenities such as TV, WIFI, a good mirror, the bathroom has large space too though the water containing system of the shower gave us some trouble by leaking water into the main room.

Beds: big and clean

Garden: very green and beautifully decorated, and had a tennis court as well

Staff: very helpful and spoke both Spanish and English, helped us find buses, taxis etc

We got here after two nigths in a nice hotel of Tulum, but this one has been just the best, the hotel is so beautiful, the rooms large and the cuisine at restorant is delicious... We had two pleasant days, we stay at the pool area for about 2 hours and had great time, we came with 4 other friends and we all really like this Ecotel Quinta Regia, there is free conection WiFi and free parking, which really appreciate since we brougth two cars... We highly recommend this beautiful, comfortable and great located hotel!!!

A huge garden full of exotic trees - peace in a not so peacefull town. A very good place to relax after an hard day. The employees are very nice, especially the waiters in the restaurant. Plus the air conditionner works well and makes hardly any noise. A keeper!

On the plus side the rooms are delightfully decorated with bright Mexican decor etc. and are very comfortable. There is a computer room with 2 computers + wifi - all available free.

On the negative side: the bathrooms are very dated and cramped. The food is very mediocre and price of drinks very high.

The worse thing was that we had things 'removed' from our room. It was only when we arrived at the next hotel that we realised that a few things were missing: a light weight day sack, a pair of polaroid clip on sun glasses, and a small container with pills. They could have only been removed at this hotel ! Another person on our tour had medicines 'removed' The items were not of any real value but it was very annoying.

A long 1 hour journey to Chichen Itza
Would I recommend this Hotel ....probably not.

We stayed here as a great base to Chichen Itza, Coba, and Ek Balam. Hotel is about 5 blocks up from town center and felt safe always. Very pleasant staff and helpful. While the food in the hotel restaurant wasn't fabulous, the staff always tried to please and very friendly. Clean pool although 75% of it is shallow. Rooms were adequate but air conditioning worked well. Rooms could have been cleaned better though. Price of hotel and restaurant are very reasonable. Overall, my family enjoyed our stay and recommend.

Ecotel Quinta Regia is a wonderful place to relax after a day of driving and sightseeing in the area, and the very reasonable rates make it a real bargain.

Our room, with tasteful Mayan Mexican decor, was perhaps the most attractive hotel room we've ever stayed in. It was very clean and comfortable, with modern, well-lit bath facilities. The only inconvenience was that I could get a wi-fi connection only when I was near the patio door, and there were no grounded outlets in the room, so my Internet access time was brief. A pigtail adapter would have been very handy.

The entire compound was beautifully landscaped. We didn't get to use the pool, but it was very inviting.

The hotel restaurant was pleasant, and we enjoyed a dinner there in spite of the fact that the waiter spoke almost no English and our Spanish is equally minimal. In the morning, we were anxious to get on the road to Chichen Itza to get there before the crowds, so the restaurant packed us two plates of canteloupe, watermelon, and papaya to go.

The nearby mall mentioned by another reviewer was a great convenience to us. The entire mall was smaller than a U.S. supermarket, but the grocery store had a decent selection of snacks, fruit, and other items like sunscreen and bottled water at prices far more reasonable than the tourist shops.
