“Excellent hospitality!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 16, 2012

We were schedule to be in the Hacienda Uxmal but due to low season, we were placed in the Lodge at Uxmal. We were excited to be in the environment of the Lodge. There was something magical about waking up to the sounds of birds, and the low hanging fog. The manager, Bersain, and the staff of the hotel and the restaurant were the best that they could be. We appreciated the tour of the old hacienda and the plantation. Thank you to all.

I saw pictures of you and your wife with the old Hacienda entrance arch on the background, and thought how wonderful that the consolidation of this venerable place is now being enjoyed by our visitors ! We are all grateful for your patronage and the comments you have made of your stay amongst us. Muchas Gracias!

I was in a quick visit to many destinations in Yucatan and Uxmal is one of the best parts of the state. If you are going from Campeche or Merida is easy to get there and the highway is very safe and in good shape. The Lodge at Uxmal is a top notch hotel that allows guest to feel comfortable and pampered after exploring the wonders in the area.

To visit the Uxmal Maya ruins you just have to cross the street, it's incredibly convenient to explore the ruins and relax after a long walk and return to the spacious room to recover in the jacuzzi or chilling in the balcony.

Rooms are in extraordinary condition, great toileteries (Honey shampoo & coconut vainilla body lotion smells delicious!) Both Bedroom and bathroom have great space and there's a big jacuzzi to relax. Inside the room there's coffee maker, minibar, AC & ceiling fan.

There's a fantastic wood curve blind that keeps your room dark and let you enjoy the enviroment, In the balcony there's a rocking chair and a hammock to enjoy the view. The doors and glasses have incredible Maya details.

The hotel have two pools, one in the main entrance where you can enjoy views of one of the pyramids, next to the pool is the restaurant and the bar where food is very tasteful. Try Chaya in any dish you can,is a local plant and it's not spicy. Be careful with Chile Habanero!

There's a small farm located in the back of Hacienda Uxmal (another great hotel) that provide some products for the hotel.

Free wifi access is provided in the lobby and restaurant, Local people is very friendly and hospitalary, you need a couple of day to explore ruins and some other attractions and the hotel is the perfect spot to stay.

Room Tip: Rooms in first floor have palapa ceiling!

Not as top as The Lodge at Chichen Itza, but retains the quality of facilities, location, and service of the former. Certainly a top choice when going to Uxmal. It is at walking distance from the ruins, has a couple of great pools to resucitate the heat, breakfast is fine and dinner too.

We spent 4 nights at the Lodge Hotel in Uxmal (pronounced Ushmal). The staff were outstanding and could'nt do enough for us. The food choice and quality was excellent given where it is situated. The room and bathroom were very clean. Every room has a balcony looking out over the pool and garden. They provide free internet access, and is a great base for the temple at Uxmal which is just a 3 or 4 minute walk away.

Room Tip: All the rooms appear to be the same and look out over the pool and gardens.

The Hotel is very near to the ruins. Rooms are big, clean and have a nice veranda. To cool down you can jump in the nice pool, which of course is "dirty" as written in other reviews, but just from leaves falling down from the trees around.
Do not expect great luxury, you are in Uxmal, more or less in the nature. Keep in mind this point and then you will be glad to have aircon, minibar, comfortable bed, a big bathroom and so on.

Incredible history for this beautiful property in Uxmal. We were there a few days, and were overwhelmed by the service and staff. Food was excellent, and we particularly enjoyed the guide arranged by the hotel, Don Jorge. Knowledgeable and entertaining, both in Spanish and English- te va a encantar! In addition to very entertaining horseback ride, we enjoyed an authentic Mayan feast prepared and in a small native hut called a Chosa. If you get a chance, definitely try this experience- the Lodge may be able to arrange it. My wife and I both love the Yucatan, and always enjoy our travels there. Whenever possible, we stay at the Lodge at Uxmal, and the Lodge at Chichen- and the sightseeing tours (Gray Line Tours) offered are always wonderful.

Spent two nights here as part of a Globus/Monograms tour. We were very happy with our accomodations in Chichen Itza, which is owned by the same family, but the staff at Uxmal made the visit totally delightful. Both properties offer the calming sound of birdsong day and night. Everything in the restaurant here was wonderfully fresh. We learned that they grow lots of their own produce on the grounds of the Hacienda, part of the same complex right across the road. Our guide, Carlos, from Grey Line/Mayaland Tours took us to see the whole property (as well as visits to the Chichen Itza, Uxmal and Kabah archeological sites, and Merida). Would definitely use this as a jumping off point in future for the many sites we didn't get to visit this time. As for safety, we encountered no problems here, in Chichen Itza, or in Cancun where we got to spend three last days in Mexico. Had a wonderful time!
