My family which consisted of my hubby, our 4 children ( ages 11,9,7 and 4) and I took a tour with this company when our Disney Cruise ported there for a few hours. We have never booked an excursion through a company before, but we decided to do things a bit different outside of the cruiseliner. We booked the Chacchoben Ruins tour online from the website from home days before the cruise. The booking process was very easy, received the confirmation and with it was directions and a map to the pick up point. When our ship ported there, we got off, followed the map and directions that was provided. We arrived at the pick up point, checked-in with a lady at the Native Choice desk. She check our names off,she put wristbands on us and then she told us to stand in a spot and our guides will be there soon. A few minutes later, a lady and a man walk up to us and let us know that bus number _ is ours and we will have a bus to ourselves as the other bus is full and we're the last group. We got on the bus and started our tour, they handed us each a cold bottle of water. It was really refreshing as it was a really HOT day. On the way to the ruins, Our guide Kacey had us all introduce ourselves. That was great as that made us feel more comfortable.
We had Kasey our guide, Enrique who was our driver and our other guide was David. They were amazing, very friendly, very informative and easy to talk to. On our way to the ruins, Kacey told us information about Costa Maya's history and culture. She even showed us her hometown. When we arrived at Chacchoben Ruins, David took over as our guide. He showed us around the ruin sites, he was extremely knowledgeable, enthusiastic and passionate about the Mayan history. Enrique was there to and would give us water bottles when we needed them. We were able to see all the different spots on the ruin tour and they made sure that we never ran into crowds from our cruise or other cruiseliners. On our way back, Kacey asked the driver if we could stop at one of the food stands in her hometown for some pineapple. We did, it was really sweet and delicious, but one thing that was really neat about the pineapple they gave us a spice to put on it which gave the pineapple a nice hot kick. If you get the opportunity to try it. I suggest you do.
They got us back in more than enough time to get back on the ship.
We highly recommend you choose Native Choice for a tour if you're in the Costa Maya area as they were professional, friendly and amazing. They made it a great tour for us.
Muchas Gracias Kacey, Enrique and David.
