Hi everyone, we visited the Sirenis a couple of years ago and I'm finally a Trip Advisor member (yea, it takes me a while) so here is a really honest review of this property:
The Sirenis is really a unique property - it's ultra modern, not traditional Mexican style or decor. But it was refreshingly different. It's clean, minimalist and spacious.
Again, clean, spacious and minimalist. The rooms are kind of open concept and the jacuzzis are great. Rooms were cleaned every day at the same time and the in room bar was stocked regularly without being asked or reminded.
Each "wing" of the resort has it's own Concierge, so you don't have to wait forever to ask a question or make a dinner reservation. Service was courteous and prompt.
This is a neat place - very wild, very "untouched" in a lot of places. You're really in the jungle/bush in Mexico here. There were beautiful pathways to walk around and the grounds are immaculate - clearly the resort takes pride in it's appearance. It's really lovely.
I think we spent a whole day on this thing! Get on, with cocktail in hand, and enjoy your ride around the property on what everybody called "those floaty things" . It's fun to be a kid for a while, and the Lazy River lets you do that.
Typical all inclusive, huge buffet etc. There was one restaurant - it was like a New Orleans type restaurant - outstanding. We had great jambalaya there. Very Cajun. The steakhouse had a GREAT filet mignon.
Bring snorkel gear and HAVE FUN! The beach is great and so is the water - lots of snorkelling and lots of marine life to see. Bring those water shoes because there is some coral there. Bring an underwater camera.
It's a huge place, so be prepared to walk a lot. Like, a LOT. But it's great exercise, especially after a big meal.
The resort has these colourful orbs that are situated around the resort. They glow at night - very pretty. It's a unique touch. The resort is also lit up at night with colourful lights - pink, purple, orange. It's very nice.
There was a coffee shop on the property. We had some lovely cappuccinos after dinner there. Nice touch!
Nice service and very good cocktails. It's a very minimalist decor but nice overall.
These are truly gorgeous pools. I especially loved the lagoon pool, more quiet. We didn't get a great deal of waiter/waitress service at this pool but that's ok, we just went and got our own. There are two other pools nearer to the guest suites that had more regular service. I liked the 'lagoon pool' because it was very quiet.
Check In/Check Out:
I can't say enough about these employees. We were welcomed graciously and the day we left, checkout was tough - who wants to leave, after all? Really nice employees there, no question. And believe me, the one thing I can't stand is bad customer service. I work too hard for my holidays folks, this resort does NOT disappoint in that respect! They are hard working, friendly and accommodating.
This place is quite a bit further from the airport than most places we've stayed at - it was almost 2 hours (despite what the brochures will tell you) so by the time we got there (it was almost 1 a.m.) we were exhausted! But the main buffet was open and we had something to eat, it was great. It's just a long bus ride so you should know that. But worth it if you are looking for seclusion, tranquility.
In closing, I just want to say that this is a beautiful resort. If you're looking for a unique and different type of resort, GO! You'll have a great time! Would we go back? Absolutely. It's a lovely place and we had a really nice week.
If you have any questions about my review, drop me a line. And have a wonderful holiday!
