“Awesome vacation”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

My husband and I just returned from Grand Sirenis last week. We had a 5 night 6 day stay. We decided that this was enough time to spend if you want to just relax at the resort and not do any of the tours. We did go into Tulum for a 3 hour tour, and I would definitely recommend this. Our tour was booked through Best Day Travel right at the resort. I would highly recommend going through Best Day. They picked us up at the airport and returned us to the airport, and were available at the Resort to book any tours we wanted. We also went off the Resort one night to go to Coco Bongo in Play Del Carmen. DO NOT do this.....we were sooo disappointed. They jam wayy to many people into one location,,,,,extreme fire hazard. Other than that our stay was perfect....This resort is highly recommended for their staff, and believe me, that is the truth. All of the staff were so friendly and willing to make your stay perfect in every way. From the maids to the bartenders, to the games people, to the waiters and lobby reception people. HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL......When we checked in and got to our room we were disappointed that we had booked a King room and this had 2 double beds. We called the desk right away and they said we could be moved the next day to a King, the Resort was completely full when we were there. So, we were moved the next day to a nice King Room. Not a problem, I guess it happened to many people that week. That night we were asked to be participants on stage for the Ideal Couple game at the Theatre. That was a BLAST....We didn't turn out to be the Ideal Couple but it started off our vacation great. There is a show in the Theatre on the property every night. We saw the Rock Show also, that was good. We enjoyed the swim up bar in the pool and also the Beach Snack Bar on the beach. The main bar we were at was in the main lobby, Angel was an excellent bartender. If we couldn't think of what to drink, he would come up with something for us....We visited the Disco on the property the first night also. It is small, but fun. They did play a bit too much Hip Hop young people music for us to stick around too late for. We also visited the Spa the day before we left. This was soooo relaxing. My husband and I did the couples massage together. It was a little spendy, but not too much more than I pay in the states. We chose two al a carte restaurants. We enjoyed T-bones at the Ranchero Steak Restaurant. The wait staff we fun and very efficient. We also took advantage of the French Restaurant Package deal. While we were eating at the restaurant the staff were in our room setting out rose petals on the bed and in the hot tub, and left us a bottle of champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. Definately spend the extra money for this. The ambiance in the French Restaurant was worth the extra money. All of the buffets were delicious, I never saw food that I thought had been left over from a previous buffet. Neither one of us had any stomach trouble and we both drank plenty of water there. They have their own Osmosis system at the Resort. The only thing that my husband and I did not appreciate was the fact that people leave their towels on the beach chairs and then either don't come back or leave for hours at a time and this is very rude. Other than that, they tried to get us to listen to their time share, but we declined, no problem. One thing to note is that in the gift shop they DO NOT take US dollars, you have to have pesos or you can use your debit card. We were not prepared for that, but was fine. All in all I would highly recommend this resort. We met many many nice couples and will definately return to Grand Sirenis.

Room Tip: We had a room on the main floor, close to the lobby and pools, didn't have to walk very far for...

Came to celebrate our 25 wedding anniversary. Staff very attentive and helpful, nothing too much trouble. Spa treatments excellent and good value for money. Food is really good, excellent choice and plenty of it. Hygiene in the hotel is very good, all pools regularly tested and saw chefs testing temperatures of food on buffet regularly. Mexican wine very good.

My family has been looking forward to this trip to Grand Sirenis for months and we were never disappointed with our experience.

Even before we arrived, our personal concierge, Raul Bermudez, made sure that we will have a worry-free vacation in Mexico, by sending emails. Our land transfer from the airport to the hotel was booked through him with no trouble at all. Our jr suite has the ocean view - as I have requested.

For us, the resort can take pride in their wonderful employees who would go out of their way to extend all the help they can give: the waiters, bar tenders, servers, room cleaners. My children enjoyed the kiddie club and my son's participation in the show was something he would not forget for some time. Amazing "Animation Super" crew and cast, especial mention to Jose, Rudolph, Andrea and Cynthia. Alll very friendly and you could entrust your kids with no worries at all.

Food was great - we love the clean bright buffet rest., and the great variety of food, the French ala carte restaurant is a must for everyone to try. They cook wide selection of fresh fish in front of you.

We booked an excursion to Xel-ha and Tulum through the hotel and it was all worth it. Not enough time though to do everything in 1 day. Should have not visited both places in 1 day. Next time will try Explor.

We will defnitely recommend this resort to our friends. Looking forward to coming back.

Had two weeks in February for Winter relaxation by the beach and sun. The hotel, service and facilities exceeded our expectations. Lots of options to laze in the sun either on the beach or by the swimming pools. Plenty of sun-loungers available, no matter what time we went down. Good range of a la carte restaurants and we had no problem booking. The main buffet restaurant was good considering the large number of diners. There was a good range and availability of food which was replenished often. Rooms were spacious and the housekeeping was to a high standard. Service was always good and we would like to particularly praise Ronnie who served on the buffet restaurant terrace and Graziela who served around the pool. The quiet pool attendant (we didn't get his name) worked hard and enthusiastically to make sure that we got the sun loungers where we needed them. We would certainly recommend this hotel.

Just got back from the Grand Sirenis yesterday morning, and I have one word for the resort - fantastic. It was my 2nd trip to Mexico, my boyfriend's first, and neither of us were disappointed! The service is great, the food is delicious, the resort itself is beautiful, and the room was perfect.

We took the collectivo everywhere we wanted to go - super cheap, you catch it on the highway, and it's very easy. Visited Tulum, Playa del Carmen, and Hidden Worlds - all so much fun!

I wanted to mention a couple of staff who really helped us out on the trip - if you come in contact with them, they're great. The concierge at Acat block, Gary, is AMAZING! He went out of his way almost every day to help us, and if he doesn't have the answer right away, he will find it. My boyfriend and I would've been lost without him. If you get him as a concierge, you're in for a treat - he really will take care of you.
Also, Carlos Antonio, who maintained our room through the entire trip: thank you for all the wonderful animals (I loved coming back to see what the new one was!), for organizing my messy bathroom sink, and keeping our room sparkling clean.

definitely recommend this resort!

Room Tip: Book near the lobby if you want to be close to everything, but just a warning, it's a little lou...

We travelled here as a family of 5. We had a wonderful holiday and met many amazingly friendly Mexican people. One of the highlights was our waiter Faustino Coba. We have never had better service anywhere, ever! Faustino was so pleasant and sweet, we ensured we were seated in his section each evening. Resort was clean, weather was good. Good selection at buffet and the staff were extremely helplful. Would defintely recommend this resort. Bring your mask and snorkel, lots to see and do. Good shopping, vendors visited twice during the week. Approx. 35 minutes to Playa del Carmen. Don't miss their Mexican night. We returned late due to a scheduled excursion and really wish we would have returned earlier.

Room Tip: We were on the third floor in our building, nice and quiet. Found the pillows a bit flat but I'...

very nice to stay , fairly clean , ask for smoked glass in your room between the tub and the bed as there is none in some rooms . don't get caught up with the buying of shares at the resort .service at the restaurant was great , we had a man named Ramon Renterid, he was amazing ,the two others we had were Chabely Cacho an Luis Alberto perez silvestre .
these people made the trip amazing . i wish we had stayed 2 weeks though , did lots of tours and it seemed we didn't get it all done what we wanted to do .
staff all was good . when i go back i will stay on the beach side to try something different .

Room Tip: stay in 2nd or 3rd floor an stay on the beach side if possible .
