“Excellent Vacation!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

My boyfriend and I just got back from this resort today and couldn't wait to tell how amazing our experience was. We went from October 25th-October 30th with another couple and had a great time. The facility was very clean and the resort itself was very large and beautiful. Even though the resort was very large, you can always call for someone to come and pick you up from your room with a golf cart and take you wherever you like. There was always so much to do at any given time. We played 'Tequila Volleyball,' played beach soccer, and went to the Disco which was a lot of fun. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The beach was gorgeous and was wonderful for snorkeling. We had gone to Cozumel for a day to go scuba diving and we saw some of the same colorful fish at the resort's beach. I usually am not comfortable swimming in the ocean on vacation and will only take a quick dip...but the ocean by this resort was so clear, you could see everything. It was the first time I was actually able to enjoy swimming in the ocean for a long period of time and feel completely comfortable. The food was absolutely amazing!!! I typically do not like the food that is served at All-Inclusive resorts; however, this resort had not only a great variety of food, but was also very delicious! They let us eat at three A la Carte restaurants when we were only supposed to eat at two due to the fact we were only staying 5 days. The Steak House was one of our favorites as well as the Japanese restaurant which was absolutely to die for! I was extremely impressed with the food overall, even at the buffets! The bartenders were also great as well. We tipped them throughout the night and they would always have a drink waiting for us, rather than us waiting for them. They would also start making exotic, colorful, and tasty drinks for us as well. The pool and the lazy river was very clean, calm, beautiful, and relaxing. The only complaints that we would have about this place (and it wasn't even a big deal at all) was the fact that the location of this resort was about 70 minutes away from the airport via taxi. Also, the beach was somewhat rocky when entering in certain areas which, once again, was not that bad and never stopped us from going to the beach. The resort also felt very safe which was a huge plus. Overall, we were definitely impressed with this resort, especially for the price! We would like to go back one day and definitely recommend this place!!!

Room Tip: We stayed in building 29. It would not be worth your money ($200) to upgrade to an Ocean View room o...

Stayed here from 13/10/12/-- 29/10/12. You name it this hotel has it. Forgot to take your slipper and dressing gown ? No problems. These are provided free of charge as standard in your room, along with shampoos, conditioner , moisterisers ect. It is really nice that all rooms are suites because as we all know sitting on that one chair or bed to read or watch TV is not the best. Having a sofa and easy chair is bliss. The lenght of the rooms are longer than the lenght of most houses at home, so it is not cramped, plus you have a balcony as well. We even had our beds turned down at night with a chocolate added to your sheet. The food was excellent. If you go hungry then you are an extremly fussy eater. If you want to live on freshly cooked t bone steak every night you can, if you only want omelette and salad, you can. But the varitiy is mind blowing and thats each meal time. never made the snack bar at night so cannot comment. There are also A la Carte restaurants as well. Again never used them so cannot comment. In fact the only negitive I have about this hotel and I even surprised myself that I thought it. ( must be getting old ) You didn't need to dress for eving meals. I know all you ladies like to dress up, but its really spoilt when your other half is in shorts and vest. ( not me though ) I have mentioned this to hotel staff, so will see if it changes. In all a fantastic hotel, excellent value, great staff. Nothing to moan about. Just go and enjoy it. Here is some general info. Its about 1hr 20 from airport, Tulum 20 mins Explor ,Xcaret and Xel - Ha 25 min. Playa Del Carmen 30 mins. So very close to everywhere.

Room Tip: All rooms have a balconly and even ground floor one have a "view " The sea view ones need...

As we stated, this was our 4th time here & still love the place. We came on honeymoon & have never looked back, the staff are so friendly, always happy & can't do enough for you. The food in the a la carte restaurants is nice but the language barrier is somtimes a problem. Although the range in the buffet is such an extensive range & this comes from an extremely fussy eater. The 3 pools are always clean, the rooms are beautifully designed & are all the same unless you pay for a sea view. We love the place so much that we bought in to the sirenis premium travellers club in 2010, as it made sense to us because we would be returning on a regular basis, plus, as they state, you can use your weeks, all over the world, BUT we have returned to the Grand Sirenis for the last 4 years and the package has worked for us, and will keep working for us. Beautiful resort, beautiful country, can't fault the place.

Room Tip: Always recommend being on the top floor.

We arrived at this secluded beautiful resort mid October. Everyone was very friendly and helpful who worked at the resort. We had great location from our room across from the pool bar and buffet which made throwing on our bathing suits easy and conveinent. The beaches were beautiful and huge so lots of room to spread out. Beach bbqs and entertainment was a daily thing that occurred on the beach which was great. This resort was mainly a couples and family retreat get away, which made it not so party/mingling for us singles i found. I will give a shout out and praises to our Concierge Fabian Barrera and Martin Castille in building 28, they made our stay more than welcome and hooked us up with amazing things to do around the resort and around playa del carmen. Without Fabian right outside our door(2816) we probably wouldn't have had the memorable experience we did. Also, i would like to send praises out to Lidiana and Samuel in the Lobby bar(Mezcal) We had the most amazing experience thanks to these entertaining 2 individuals on a nightly basis. Samuel made the most amazing drinks(and was also very talented making paper roses for us girls) and Lidiana always had a smile on her face when walking by our table. Both gave the best vacation experience for us in our last days on the resort. Our fav Restaurant in the resort was japanese, was VERY entertaining and food was great. The resort had the most beautiful breakfast buffet i have ever seen above the lobby bar, EVERY thing you could ever imagine to eat. The only critisism i will give will be that our bathroom roof leaked every other day and soaked everything we had on the counter including the floor which made it getting up to a mess and wet towels everyday. The people at the dive shop were extremely nice and made my scuba day epic. The entertainment crew made us smile and laugh on regular basis. All in all would definately go back to this resort. Thanks to all at Grand Sirenis!

My friend booked this resort to celebrate her 40th Birthday and it did not disappoint. We had a great time. 8th Oct-23rd Oct 2012.

FOOD
Superb buffet choice, loved the Oriental themed night. Our favourite a la carte restaurants were: Brazilian (go hungry!), Italian, Steak house and Japanese. Lease fav- Cajun. ;-(

BEACH
We lay on the beach every day, it's just gorgeous and very peaceful. Well done to the life guard who saved a struggling snorkeller. Impressive stuff.

ROOMS
Naab building. Room 2920- Perfect for us. Lots of storage, two large double beds, comfy pillows and a large bathroom

ACTIVITIES
Snorkelling with turtles and Coco Bongo's (opt for VIP, worth the extra). Both trips a must!

ENTERTAINMENT
Lots of effort from the entertainment staff. Big thanks to the very talented Luis and the other superb dancers and singers for putting on such fantastic shows.

SPA
Loved the scenic walk to the spa and the Hydrotherapy treatment was amazing.

OVERALL
A wonderful holiday, would highly recommend this resort. We hope to visit again some day soon.

From,
Linda Moffat (the birthday girl) and Amanda ("Sammy") Newby

My husband and I and our daughters (19 and 22) were at the Grand Sirenis from Oct 13-20. We have done many AI resorts and this is now one of our favorites! Like one of the other reviews said it is just over an hour from the airport but worth the time. Upon ck in to ck out everything went smooth. We exchanged through RCI and they said we were getting a one bedroom that sleeps 4/6. From other reviews I knew that the resort doesn't have such a room so I was not surprised when they gave us 2 rooms next to each other. It would be a problem if you were traveling with young children. I did write on my survey to RCI that they need to get together with Sirenis and change that! Both rooms were large. We had a king bed, the girls 2 full beds. We each had a pull out couch too. The bathrooms came stocked with supplies and amenities so it's nice to know you don't need to bring shampoo, gel or body lotion, HOWEVER there is no conditioner for your hair so that is something you will want to pack. Miquel kept our rooms fully stocked and clean and each day we arrived to a new towel figure that he made. Certainly remember that a dollar or two each day means alot to these hard working people. The buffet was your normal AI one...lots of food some tastey some not but remember they are feedingpeople whose tastes come from all over the world! The Steak house restaurant was by far our favorite. There is a coffee house where the cutest girl worked. Can't remember her name but she always had a smile and we enjoyed talking to her..(she worked until closing!)
The week we were there they closed down one of the pools to redo the tiles...that was kind of upsetting seeing one big pool and buffet area shut down but truthfully it didn't affect us in the end...the place was busy but we never had a problem finding a lounge at the beach...sometimes at the pool we did but again...there was one large pool shut down and to keep the place looking great we understand maintenance...which by the way the place is super clean as well as the beach. Snorkeling right off the beach was the best...probably the best we've ever had for walking out like that from the beach-even saw a turtle! My husband and daughters dive...the 22 yr old is a dive master....they had some wonderful dives with the on-sight dive shop. The poolside ent headed up by Mark did a great job keeping the games going. And they weren't pushing if you didn't want to participate. Alex and Victoria were wonderful with all the games and kept my girls entertained throughout the week with volleyball, cooking lessons on the beach etc...Miquel headed up the nite time ent as well as poolside...that is one busy guy!! Again these people are very hardworkers and they always have a smile on their face. We watched most of the shows at nite...they were good...it was nice to just sit back and relax with a beverage at the end of they day. The disco is at the end of the resort...take the shuttle there and back...it would be very long walk if you didn't. Again, as I read in other reviews the disco is good...lots of variety being played. The girls danced in a dance contest with Moses and Lous...they had the best time...they didn't win but had fun just the same. I am rec this resort to anyone who asks how our vacation was. Ernesto, our concierge made things run so smoothly...he did all our dinner reservations and even arranged our spa time. He was easy to work with and anytime he saw us he made sure we were happy and that we didn't have any problems. Sirenis is a top notch resort and you should definitely try it out! I'm looking forward to visiting the Sirenis in Punta Cana some day!
