“Fabulous”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

There were two couples and all four people had a great time. The food at the buffets were super and the restaurants were beyond my expectations. The service at the bars was also super and the all inclusive meant what it said.
I found the rooms comfy and well maintained, and my girlfriend and I thought the including of the full moon out our balcony over the ocean was a nice romantic touch!

Room Tip: ask for ocean view and top floor, it is worth the walk.

Just arrived back from staying at the GBP Tulum once again, this time we returned with our family group of 10 having 4 small young children.
Arrived at the Tulum and given a welcoming drink and had a quick check in with no problems, suitcases were delivered to our rooms and we were taken by the transportation team. As requested we all stayed in the same block. The rooms were very good, clean and had coffee machine, mini bar, iron and a small ironing board all a bonus for me. Thank you for our bottle of champagne which was in our room on arrival a lovely touch.
Next day we booked our a la carte's as you need to do this early because they get very booked up. Bookings are getting e mailed prior to going so those who don't know can miss out on their allicated a la cartes.
The main Tulum restaurant was very good, staff were friendly. We did go to the Akumal main restaurant a few times and this was excellent. With having a little one high chairs were plentiful, all having a hygenically wrapped tray.
We went to several a la cartes the Brazillian is great for meat eaters and our favourites were le Gourmet and Don pablos. There is a dress code in certain ones for men to wear long trousers.
The children enjoyed the transportation between the resort having pick ups at certain points or they would stop to see where you wanted to go.
The pool area was good but got pretty busy at times with guests putting towels on loungers early in the morning and some not getting there till lunch. This is very annoying and my son in law did complain. The beach was lovely and clean, there were a few rocky parts which did make it difficult to gain access at times.

The grounds were very well kept with plenty of wildlife to enjoy. There was some construction work near us but luckily didn't bother us as we were not in our rooms during the day.

A day was spent at Xehla which was great fun and went to Playa Del Carman for a few hours.
The children went to the Dolphinaris on resort and had a great time and hired the bikes.
The entertainment team were very good and the shows were well done. We did spend some time in the lobby bar, just a pity the music stops at certain times while the shows are on. The waitresses do a tremendous job at table service with lovely cocktails.

Overall we had an amazing time, well done GBP Tulum your staff are so friendly, helpful and to all those behind the scenes that made my families first visit to Mexico such an enjoyable one.

Can't wait to return again next year

I was at the resort from 0ct 21-31 2012. Got married on the 25th with 23 guests and it was amazing. The people are friendly the resort is clean the weather was perfect! If your planning a wedding i suggest getting the pool party it was a hit! The drinks were good the food at the tequila restaurant was excellent. We had a room with a ocean view on the top floor of the 34 block. The whole wedding package was cheap compared to getting married in canada so i suggest it to any couples who dont have a whole lot of money to spend on a wedding. The only minor complaints would be the buffet was sometimes cold and food was a bit salty but there are many things to choose from so no matter what you will find something you like. This was my second time at the resort and will be back for our 5 year anniversary for sure!!!!

Room Tip: we had room 3421 it was a corner room and top floor with ocean view it was perfect!

We have just come back from a two week holiday at this resort and had an absolutely fantastic time - there was a group of 23 of us which ranged in age from 1 - 54! The hotel was chosen as our wedding destination too and all expectations were exceeded!

We arrived in resort on 15th October; the food is outstanding, even for the fussiest of eaters there is something to choose from. The kids selection was good too and they could even have anything from the main buffet.

The staff work incredibly hard and work well into the night cleaning the pools and the surrounding areas; we loved going into our room each day to see what towel design we had been left!

The hotel complex is huge - we travelled round on the buses to and from the other hotels.

Our wedding day - 23rd October - was amazing. We met with the wedding co-ordinator Maria when we arrived in resort and went through everything with her. The day went without a hitch and the setting was amazing - in the gazebo outside the Tequila restaurant. The weather was perfect! We went to the Mediterreano for our meal in the Coba and then back over to the Tulum lobby bar for an evening of dancing and entertainment with the live band.

We tried a few of the a la carte restaurants - I recommend you book this with public relations before you go though because they do get quite booked up. We went to Mikado (Japanese) this was my favourite, the food was amazing and the restaurant was stunning. We also tried the Mexican, this was nice and the Brazilian - which we thoroughly enjoyed. Others in our party tried the International restaurants and they said they couldnt fault it and even booked to go again!

The entertainment team were brilliant - we spent a lot of time at the pool bar and they entertained us with their water polo, disco by the pool and aerobics. The evening entertainment was good although I think it could have gone on a bit longer in the ampitheatre. But to be honest with the number of people that were in our party we spent most of the time in the lobby bar.

Overall we had a fantastic holiday and will definitely be returning - especially with it being the place we got married! Just got to get over the jet lag now!

Room Tip: Rooms on the Hacienda side get more benefits!

Just returned from GBP Tulum. 4th time here; twice to Coba & twice to Tulum. We had a fabulous time as always.

Service at food times can be less than perfect but is still more than acceptable. Staff are very friendly. Rooms & grounds are always clean. True paradise. Going next Sept and already counting down.

For value for money, you don't need to look any further.

Special regards to Alfredo at Tequila who made breakfasts & lunches extra special.

Well done to all staff & see you next year!

We stayed at the Bahia Principe Tulum for 11 nights between October 6 and 17. As this was not our first stay there, two weeks prior to our arrival, I requested by e-mail a room in our favourite part of the resort, a crib and an extra bed for our kids. Antonio, Guest Services Manager, replied that without making any promises, he will try his best to accommodate us.
Upon arrival, we were not disappointed! Not only, did we have a room in the requested area with the bed and crib, we also had a bottle of sparkling wine and fruits waiting for us. In fact, during our stay all staff members surpassed our expectations and we found quiet often strawberries dipped in chocolate or other amenities in our room.
A couple of notes about the resort:
• The Bahia Principe is actually four resorts connected together. Tulum is the original resort and therefore the oldest one. Rooms are smaller than in the other resorts and can have issues. In ours, the a/c wasn’t working properly but was repaired promptly.
• There are constructions happening at the back of the resort. They are building new rooms. Constructions are Monday to Friday and start early. Try to avoid buildings just across from these constructions.
All in all, we had a wonderful stay, thanks to the great people working at the resort. Customer service is definitely a priority.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the constructions

if u wanna go on the big trips your gonna need quite a lot of money a the trips r expensive.i didnt feel that our thomas cook rep was very helpful so we booked a couple of trips through the hotel and go and grab the local bus and explore, it is very safe and very cheap. dont buy the mosquito bands, they dont work, and 2 be honest i dont think the mozzies were as bad as other places.
their is so much 2 say about our stay but my overall veiw is.....Fantastic place, fantastic holiday and we will be going back.....i cant wait!!!!! :o)
