“~A great honeymoon~”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2012

Being married to the man of my dreams (literally) what better place to honeymoon to than Cancun? Spent 6 nights at this All Inclusive Resort, the way we like to travel, better deals. It was very humid being it was in early August, but the resort was laid out beautifully and located right on the ocean. Comfortable rooms with a gorgeous view of the ocean. Thank goodness for A/C and the ocean to cool off with. Food was fabulous and service was great! We did the Xel-ha adventure, floating on tubes, that was fun and relaxing. Visited Playa Del Carmen, a busy lil place, but fun! The overall experience was great! Minus the humid weather. Next time we will travel another time of the year where it's cooler and tolerable. We still had a great time! Loved it! : )

Stayed at the gran bahia principe tulum in october 2011 and were upgraded to the club hacienda section of the hotel . We felt very special to have our own breakfast room ,separate reception and choice of a la carte restaurants three times a week .Our favourite was the Don Pablo which we visited twice the mediteranean was fabulous we thought the Mexican was the most dissapointing.A special thank you to Gabrielle in the Hacienda dining room at breakfast and lunchtime he was always ready with a special cocktail for us to try.The rooms were very good and as we travelled as three couples we were delighted to find we were all next door to each other .The beach was lovely but it is quite rocky to get into the water.Don't be drawn into the breakfast tour of the hotel facilities it is timeshare and they do capture you for a couple of hours and towards the end it is quite intimidating and becomes very hard sell. The resort is huge but there are always plenty of the little trains running around at all hours of the day and night. All in a fab holiday our first time in a Bahia hotel but will definately use them again.

Bahia Principe Tulum 2011
HUGE resort, clean, but somewhat barren compared to other lush resorts I’ve visited (could simply be landscaping be due of the southern location). Lobby big and very beautiful, pools are plentiful as are rooms and restaurants.
Music by one of the pools at the bar which was nice. We didn’t care for the shows (a bit amateurish), but we really enjoyed the music in the lobby bar every night.
Buffet was very large with lots to choose from, but quality/taste of food unimpressive. We really liked both of the a la cartes, food was very good at both. But it was very windy at night at one restaurant close the one close to the beach, and coming in and out the door it was so bad I thought I’d blow away. It was as though a tornado was on it’s way!
Have to play towel game at the pool to get a decent spot near to the water.
Our room was simple and the chairs on our little deck cheap plastic. We paid less than usual for this quick get-away and it showed. Although there was nothing wrong with the resort, it just wasn’t as lush as some others we’ve visited.
The beach was so incredibly windy the whole time we were there (April) with red flag, that we didn’t spend a lot of time on the gorgeous beach. We did go in the water just one day, which was very rough with lifeguards blowing their whistles at folks going beyond the giant sandbags (with good reason, dangerously windy!). The covered sandbags you’ve read about were strange to see, but didn’t take anything away from the ocean experience.
One thing about this place (and again, I’m sure it’s because of the southern location), there were a MILLION HUGE LIZARDS everywhere!!! It was really weird for us to see that many and so big, some up to 2 feet long! They were everywhere we went, from the pool to just outside the restaurants, just lounging all over the place or fighting with each other. It was entertaining to see, but also a little creepy.
Service was fine, nothing outstanding, but we didn’t run across anyone who was rude.
This place was reasonably priced and all in all this place was fine for a quick get-away (we stayed only 4 days). I would not go back mainly because of the size of the place. It’s so incredibly huge and everything is way too spread out. Even with the little trams they provide, it took to much of our days getting from one side of the resort to the other, simply to get to the pool or to get back to our rooms to get ready for dinner (then we’d have to get BACK on the tram to get to the restaurant, ugh!)

Me and my fiance spent two weeks in mexico and really liked it, the hotel was lovely, the all inclusive was exactly that, other hotels ive reviewed take note, the grounds were immaculate and well tended, we had a great room with a cracking view, the shuttles around the complex were always on time and the drivers were genuinely helpfull, the beach was clean although rocky in places, i would stay again tomorrow, my only grumble was the pool the dolphins are kept in, so if you stay voice your concerns to the management and hopefully these lovely animals will get better conditions if not released, but all in all a lovely place.
Mexico does have a very healthy population of mosquitos with seemed to find me very attractive so take plenty of super strong repellent and ammonia sticks these are available from boots and really help, just dont buy the yellow bands from the reps they are totally ineffective

Room Tip: Ask for a sea view

Second time here and we will be back again. The beach is beautiful, the staff fabulous, the food plentiful, fresh and attractively served, the rooms clean and well maintained. We're priveledge members and all the extra perks make us feel special.....our own beach, comfy beach chairs, private beach attendants for drinks, towels and comforts, private golf carts to take us to dinner, access to every restaurant....the list goes on.
There are three resorts on one compound and access to all of them is available. Pools, activities, shows, themed restaurants, shopping, golf, water sports, yoga, tai chi, spa services....it's all available. We never left the resort this time even though many excursions are a sign up away. A bit of a drive from the airport but well worth it.

Like I said we'll be back again!

Room Tip: Ask for a beach view, you can have your morning tea on your patio watching the sunrise or just watch...

This was our first visit to GBP-Tulum, and our first all inclusive experience. Our vacation week was in March 2012. This resort is beautiful and the service was fabulous! We especially want to mention Gonzalo who greeted us with a big smile - he was always smiling and helpful! It was so relaxing to lounge by the pools, and a few steps away we had the beach, which was our favorite retreat. The buffet was huge and the food was delicious. We reserved our 3 dinners in the ala carte restaurants...they were great..except for the Mediterranian restaurant in Coba..service was poor and our food arrived cold..this is our only complaint. We will definitely vacation here again...we had a wonderful time!!

Room Tip: Try to get a room with an ocean view, our room was a garden view, which was still beautiful.

Even though it is a good distance from the airport it is worth it.

Pool was nice and there was activities everyday, water polo, music trivia, water volleyball.

We didn't travel with kids, but noticed that they have lots of kid activities planned, would recommend to anyone traveling with kids.

Rooms were clean, if we needed the mini bar re-stocked we would call and request it in the morning and by the afternoon it was completed. We were in Villa 2 which was a quick walking distance to everything.
It would've been nice if the bed sheets were changed half way through our one week trip. They probably would've if we asked.

We tried the dinner buffet at each resort and all of them had a good selection. For Al a Carte restaurants our favorite was La Gran Tortuga, Dolce Vita and then Don Pablo.

There was a good market on site to buy all your Mexican nick nacks at.

The VEA Atving tour is in the Hacienda, don't bother booking through a representative, we probably got ripped off but learned our lesson for our other activity.
Xel Ha is a 5-10 minute bus (collectivo) ride up the highway. You will need to cross the highway and coming back the collectivo stop is on your left right outside the entrance into XelHa park. The cost is 20 pesos each way per person. The entrance fee to Xel Ha is $79USD. If you book in advance on the Xel Ha website you save 10%. We saved $40 per person doing it this way. Xel Ha is a must for fun snorkeling.
Xcaret and Explor are all bus rides away, when we go back these are the places on our list of things to do.

All the staff was friendly. They do charge for the safe, but it was included in our package. It is a small safe and it is a lock and key safe. So you had to make sure not to lose the key.
