Recently we had the pleasure of being served by Chef Daveed in Half Moon Bay, Akumal, when we were there for our son's wedding. Chef Daveed prepared a beautiful meal for 13 people in our apartment. Most of the people had never tasted Mexican food, and after their experience I'm sure they'll want more. The meal began with a variety of salsas, chips, guacamole, and cerviche followed by an aztec salad, fish veracruz, a rice dish, vegetarian black beans, flan and fruit. All dishes were not only delicious, but looked beautiful. The fruit was arranged in a huge bouquet (emanating from a pineapple).
Chef Daveed also prepared a farewell brunch for 40 of the wedding guests consisting of Salsas, Guacamole & chips an amazing fruit cocktail (mix of apples, pears, banana and strawberries with pecan, raisins and coconut in a 3 mix sauce)
fresh fruit bouquet (pineapple, watermelon, cantaloupe, mango)Green chilaquiles with egg, black beans, veggie mix
(Potato, red pepper, green pepper, onion),variety of sweet bread
Plantain stuffed with cream cheese. The plantains were particularly good and were consumed as quickly as they were placed on the buffet.
Chef Daveed is an incredibly honest and talented chef who takes great pride in the quality of his food as well as the presentation. He is happy to explain the different dishes and accommodate various dietary restrictions. He also has a small restaurant called El Comal de Akumal that looks very inviting.
We highly recommend Chef Daveed services as a personal chef for anyone wishing to entertain in their apartment or just to beg off food preparation while on vacation. He does all the shopping and preparation in a very efficient and tasteful manner.
Thanks Daveed for providing us with a very relaxing Friday night dinner and Monday morning brunch. Everyone loved the food!
