We just came back from 12 wonderful days at Kantenah. First, I would like to say big THANK YOU to the people of Palladium, thanks to you we have great memories of our holiday. Banesa, the manager responded promptly to my email and did everything in her power to make our stay such a pleasant one. Israel, a customer rep is very nice, kind and caring. Veronica, the maid kept our room imaculate. Alma and Luisa, the cooks, Nelly and Jose the waitres were always ready to please and did their job with a smile. Guadalupe and Yasenia gave us the best massage ever. We could go on and on...
The room was specious, clean with nice furniture and a balcony. We familiarized ourselves with all four hotels the first day of our stay and made plans when and what we would like to see and experience. There are signs everywhere and all four hotels are close to each other. The entertainment is the best one we have seen so far, they are professionals. There were two shows every night, our favourite was Pirates. The food was very good with different theme every night. There are 14 restaurants, eight of them are a la cart. The spa is beautiful. Pools are very nice. The highlight of the resort is nature and spotless ground, and the kind people that work there.
We highly recommend this hotel and are planning to go back.

Room Tip: We stayed in the building # 46, third floor, close to the lobby and everything else, quiet.

We have had many experiences in Mexico. This all inclusive is great. Great beach, swimming etc.The food was very good with premium liquor at a couple of the bars.
The only suggestion I would have is it would be nice to have a selection of after dinner special coffee's available after dinner at the restaurants. Be prepared to enjoy your vacation with famiies, so, yes you will endure the occasional screaming child.
This all inclusive may cost a bit more than some but the extra was worth it for us.

We just spent a week at this hotel which is part of the Fiesta Palladium chain.
Hotel located about one hour and a half from Cancun airport. Hotel is one of 4 on the very large resort.

Grounds are spotless and villas are surrounded by mangroves inhabited by coati, lots of birds,
and other mammals. Very lush and cool if you've been at the beach all day in 28 degrees celsius weather.

Beach is beautiful with white sands. Swimming is great but certain parts there are quite a lot of rocks and corals; however, many large areas of the ocean botton are like walking on velvet!
Beach area at the Kantenah has quite a lot of palapas and palm trees if you want to escape the hot sun.

We stayed in villa #48 which was approximately a 5 minute walk to the beach, and main pool and main lobby. We had a junior suite which was large, spotless and very well appointed.

May a la carte restaurants to choose from as well as buffets. We ate mostly at buffets since we had child in our party. Food ranges from good to excellent with a lotr of varitey. Buffets had a different theme night every day.

If travelling with children they have children's clubs of different ages and as far as we noticed they were all very well used.

Staff is extremely polite and helpful. Service in restaurants was excellent.

This was our 8th times in Mexico both on the west coast as well as in the Riviera Maya and this hotel is definetely one of our favourites.

After breakfast in the White Sands we were approached by a sales rep Michelle, part of the Grand Palladium Travel Club. Basically she asked us if we wanted to go on a short tour of the facilities “just to see if we would be interested in coming back in the future”.
This was a lie.

At the end of the one-hour tour she said we would get about $70 worth of Segway rides, which sounded good fun.

It seemed a bit dodgy at the time because she kept asking us if we were married and we had to produce a logo of any well-known credit card just as proof of identity of course. Yes they were after our money.

When Michelle picked us up at a pre-arranged time she could tell by the look on my face we were not going to be easily conned so she made up some pathetic story about the tour not being applicable to foreigners who were not living in their homeland. We were relieved to escape the tour and subsequent hard sell.

There is tons about the scam on the Trip Advisor site so why do they do it? It seems like a lot of very vulnerable people get conned (with a few probably fake happy customer stories dotted in between).

The Grand Palladium is a truly excellent resort with 5 star facilities and incredible staff so there is absolutely no need for this type of scam.

The Kantenah is by far the best resort we have stayed at. We have stayed at a variety of resorts around the Caribean and this one tops them all. The things that set this resort apart for us are below.
1. The large number of a la carte restaurants that you could visit as often as you wanted without reservations. The food and service were excellent in the five restaurants we visited. We will have to go back to experience the remaining restaurants
2. The room we stayed in was tremendous. We stayed in a Mayan Suite and enjoyed the spacious room, and very comofrtable bed, and a large bathroom with an outside shower. We were on the top floor of our villa and our deck/patio was very private and secluded.
3. The beach, and more speicifically the snorkelling was very good. We paid to do a snorkeling tour at the Xcaret park, but realized that we experienced more marine life just off the shore off the resort. We saw a variety of fish and stingrays. The sand at the beach is soft and very few rocks.
4. The nightly entertainement. We enjoyed all of the shows we saw. Some were a little cheesy with the lip syncing etc, but they were entertaining. The Mexican Show and the World Show are stunning along with the Pirate show. They are all worth a look.
5. The transport system. Some have complained about the size of the resort, and yes a map is handy, but the train and the golf carts are easily used. We moved quickly anywhere we needed to go.
6. Check in and check out were easy and smooth. Staff were very organized and efficient. We arrived and were in our room with our luggage in less than 10 minutes.

Overall a very beautiful location, a well trained and friendly staff, excellent food and rooms and excellent entertainment. We will return.

Room Tip: I would stay in the Kantenah in the Mayan Suites as they are the closest to the beach. If you can g...

Pros: The iguanas everywhere, the segway tour, cute animals called Coaties, Flamingos, the beach, jetskiing, photographer that walks around with a different animal every day that you can get your picture taken with (Iguana, squirrel monkey, parrot, tucan)

Cons: We get to the hotel and we check in, and they drive us by golf cart to our room (because it would have been a pretty long walk, especially with our bags). Door key that they gave us didn't work when we got to our room. Maintenance man let us and we were told that someone was going to fix it, so we went for a stroll around the resort. We come back to our room ready to call it a night (we had been traveling all day) and the lock on the door was still not programmed to work with the key they gave us there. So, we arrived at night and we were wandering in the dark trying to find the main lobby (this resort is huge), the signs were leading us in circles, then when we finally found the main lobby it took them forever to send someone out to help us.

In order to have the air conditioning on in the room, you have to have a room key inserted into a slot inside of the room. So after a hot day of being outside, you have to come back to a hot room because the air wasn't on because you can't leave the key in the room.

Towels: It was a pain to find out where you go to get a towel to go hang out on the beach. Other resorts I have been at just have bins of towels near the beach. Here, there was a hut that you had a search for and it wasn't clearly labeled, and you have to turn in something in order to get a towel. And you have to turn your towel in before you leave the resort, instead of just throwing it in the laundry or something.

The buffet food wasn't too good. The first one we went to was so bad, we just left in the middle of eating.

The swim up bar at the pool was in the deep end. So if you wanted to swim up and get a drink, then walk around with your drink or walk back to the edge of the pool, you could not do this. Normally when I see a swim up bar it is in the shallow end, so you don't have to try to swim with one hand and the other one up in the air with a drink.

Recommendations: Take a segway tour of the resort the FIRST day you get there. This resort is so freaking huge. We didn't even know they had a mini golf course that we had access too and a fancy spa because it was way on the other side. There was also a really cool cave that the segway tour guide showed us. We just saw alot of things that we didn't know about until the tour. He also likes to stop and will take pics of you with your camera. Very cool! Also, I would not recommend staying at a resort this large if you are only going to be staying for 4 nights. We had to walk so far to do anything at this resort. All the restaurants were so far apart, the beach was so far away from our room. I love exercise, but when I'm on vacation I don't want spend the whole time walking to each thing we want to do.

Let me start out by saying this was a very nice resort. Very well kept. Definately NOT OUR STYLE! This place is way to big. You must carry a map at all times. To get anywhere you have to jump a train or golf cart. The first day we got there we ventured to the beach which on the map looked pretty close. We were in villa 50. Its a 10 minute walk. When you get to the beach you walk through bushes and jungle-like and cannot see the resort. If you want to find shade its not that hard if you get there before 8am, BUT....its behind all the bushes so it you want to go swimming you cant keep an eye on your stuff. They have one pool bar that accomodates all of the four resorts. Its located at the Colonial and is not that big. Pools are cold. They have two SMALL hot tubs that are located at the spa which close at 8pm. Not convenient when it gets cold out. (we went in December) Food is something you can survive on for a week but isn't all "all inclusive" food? Even the ala'cartes were blah. Oh well. You cant really expect gourmet meals. I know I didnt. Animals are everywhere which are kinda fun to watch. The Coati Mundi were walking everywhere just begging to be feed and the raccoons at night layed around like cats. Snorkeling was decent north of Kantenah beach just past the yellow buoys. If you need to connect back home with their free wireless in the lobby dont plan on doing that at peak hours such as dinnertime because its extremely slow. Everyone in the lobby is doing the same thing. We didnt find it easy talking to people. I would say 85% of the vacationers spoke french. Needless to say...we kept to ourselves because no one knew wth we were saying :) If you want prefer a more friendly atmosphere where you get to know the staff and bartenders dont go here.
