on our way to ya bul lagoon, we saw this restaurant on the side of the road. I remembered reading some tripadvisor reviews on the lion fish at this restaurant and convinced my party to stop here on our way back. the ceth and owner, gynna, goes into the ocean on a daily basis and kills the lionfish that she is served fresh at her restaurant.
when we first pulled into the restaurant we were a little taken back at the price of the meals, but the great reviews convinced us to stay. great decision. each couple split a beer battered lionfish meals, which was fantastic. the sweetness of the fish paired with the tanginess of these thoughts, made for a wonderful experience.
each couple ended with a desert; 1 couple had the brownie, 1 couple of had the plantanes. the brownie was absolutely superb, cook freshly for you win ordered food. the plantanes where literally picke off of the tree in her front yard after you order them. Very good also.
when we were there gynna noted that she will be moving to Tulum this summer. So if you cannot find her and aakumal, I would highly recommend taking a trip to the ruina and making a stop by her restaurant.
thanks for the excellent meal and we look forward to eating with you next time where in mexico.
