Lots of fun getting out and seeing some great stuff down under!! I hadn't snorkeled in a couple of years but once I got the hang of it again all was well!

“Swim with the turtles and the rest is extra fun!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 21, 2013

We loved this! The sea was a bit rough that day but the turtles didn't mind. We saw 5 large sea turtles and a barracuda. Then it was off for a short drive to a fresh water cave for swimming. Then an open fresh water swim. Very nice and beautiful place.

“Amazing opportunity and experience!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 20, 2013

My wife and I visited this proyected ecological reserve and it is an easy snorkelling adventure which my wife will vouch for because she is a weak swimmer and a bit nervous in the water. As soon as my wife saw her first turtle any worries evaporated and she was ecstatic! The only downside is you are prohibited from using suncream as this is harmful to the turtles and the reserve. Think how many people visit in one year and you can imagine the slick of suncream that could occur! A small price to pay for this privileged encouter. They have stict rules regarding where you can snorkel and only small groups of four or five can be taken there at a time. Please don't attempt to touch or follow the turtles (federal offense) just passively observe and try not to smile too much or your mask might let water in lol .definately a visit for nature lovers.

“Great Except for the Crowds”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2013

Try and go early to beat the big crowds of inexperienced snorkelers that stir up the sandy bottom. The turtles are magnificent creatures to see in their natural environment.

“Great experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013 via mobile

Booked a half day tour that included swim in a Cenote hidden in the jungle and snorkel at Alkumal bay to see stingrays and sea turtles. Both were wonderful. For the snorkeling portion, we got really close to quite a few turtles and 2 stingrays. Unlike any other snorkeling tours, these turtles don't seem to care about humans. They continued to do their own thing even when a group of us were gathered above them. A must do if you are in the area.
