“wow”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 10, 2012

This is a stand at the entrance to Akumal village. There are stools that you sit and eat on the counter. The food here was OUTSTANDING and CHEAP. The steak and quesadilla were so good. My son ate here on our last night and had 9 tacos. That should say it all....

“Still The One”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 3, 2012

I have been going down to this part of the world for a number of years now. Maybe five trips to this area around and about Akumal. This little kitchen is still the best flavor/value combination on the beach side of 307. My wife and I love the juevos rancheros and the kids love the tacos and quesadillas. My daughter ordered some beautiful enchiladas last week, but my rancheros made me perfectly satisfied. It's open til 9PM, they serve breakfast all day and there is rarely a long wait for a seat at the lunchbar. The service is friendly and committed and the atmosphere is beach bum casual. The limonada is excellent, as well. You cannot go wrong here. I promise one day I am going to order the chilaquiles and the pork tacos.

“Save $$ Eat here!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 5, 2012

This is a wonderful place to eat for cheap! Right in the heart of Akumal, this little spot has some of the best food in town! Love the Chicken Lime Soup....even when it is hot out this dish is amazing! Their veggie and cheese quessadillas are amazing and tortas are great too! We had many meals here and love the fact we can get really full for 10 bucks! Eat and enjoy!

“Muy Bueno”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

This use to be really cheap but like all of Akumal the prices have jumped in the last couple of years. $70 for a plate of tacos which are very good. I like the pork. The enchiladas are also good. They fry the tortillas for the enchiladas which makes them a little crispy--yum. Lots of choices for drinks. Lunch counter seating with a few tables behind the counter where everyone at the counter will be staring at you-great view of the other diners at loncheria--no other view.

“Good and affordable”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 8, 2012

This casual open air breakfast/ lunch/ snack bar kind of restaurant serves up tasty food at fair prices. I rate it average, but I wish there was a "pretty darn good" category. There are certainly a number of restaurants in the area with a more diverse menu and views of the water and atmosphere. We ordered a variety of items to take back to our room- a couple orders of chicken tacos, a veggie quesadilla, fresh chips and fresh salsa- enough food food for a family of five and it was all good and flavorful. Our bill came to less than $25 and really the same order at one of the other restaurants in the area probably would have been more like $40.

The breakfast menu looked even more affordable & there always seems to be a nice flow of activity. (It's right next to the Super Chomak Market by the arch).
