“Great great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2011

We were all satisfied. Loved the atmospher and the fact that it's close to the beach. Great service. We had the chicken with the mole sauce and the fajitas.

“An authentic unpretentious delicious breakfast and dinner nook.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2011

Only went here for breakfast as a break from all inclusive routine at ABR. Pretty and clean outdoor setting. Power was out so there was no coffee. Sipped a cup of black tea while I ordered and hoped for the best. My huevos rancheros were to die for. Deliciously smokey tostada covered with black beans, sunny side up eggs, ham and cheese! My wife had an omelet with a side of black beans. She was concerned when the waitress didn't quite understand her request for toast but was thrilled when the waitress returned with a wrapped basket of warm fresh baked tortillas with a hot chile spread for them. Service was concerned and polite. Can't wait to go back for their intimate 6:00 pm dinner.

“The food was worth the wait, but definitely be prepared to wait!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 1, 2011 via mobile

This is a tiny kitchen located behind the Akumal bay dive shop. Because of it's location you have limited view and no air flow. The service was friendly but extremely slow. The food, once it finally arrived, was flavorful and unique. They didn't serve beer so we bought some at the grocery store and brought it with us.

“terrific Mayan Buffet”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 7, 2010

We ate at Imelda's several times during our stay. Tasty & economical. Even when eating some where else we would stop and get an orange juice to go for our walk back to the hotel. Best orange juice I have ever tasted!
The Mayan Buffet was excellent, it included entertainment of Mayan & Spanish dancing. We had a really enjoyable evening. Dare to try the "nose of the dog" salsa! We were told to check back the day of the buffet to make sure they had enough people, we checked and it wasn't cancelled!

“Inexpensive Mexican Lunch”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 4, 2010

I found this restaurant by accident. It is tucked behind the Akumal Dive Shop. It is not a very big restaurant but we did enjoy our 60 peso lunch special there. It was filling and the service was excellent. While there is no view of the beach, the lunch made up for the lack of a view.
