Rented a condo across the street. How lucky am I?!! We arrived late one Saturday night in Punta de Mita. Tired and hungry ... and disappointed to find out we arrived outside of their business hours but Ropi welcomed us with open arms. The food was amazing! I didn't know what I wanted so the waitress (can't remember her name but she was Ropi's ex wife which is pretty cool. They are good friends) made me up a plate of various things.
We came back almost every day. Breakfast was usually eggs with Waffles and bacon but tried the scrambled eggs w/spinach & the special omelet.
It was all so good and made fresh :) One word of warning... if you're not a cat person this may not be the place for you! As they roam freely. Having the run of the place and sadly ruining the furniture as it's their personal scratching posts.
I loved wandering around the HUGE restaurant looking at all the details,.. the tiled bench, the hanging ornaments, the Catrinas, the books, the plants even the horse shoe. There is so much to see and so much work and love gone into it.
It's always awesome to find good food when you travel and even better when it's within walking distance but even more of a bonus when you get to know the owner and see the kind of person he is. Ropi is a kind, generous humanitarian who donates his skill and time feeding the homeless. Also taking the food we couldn't use before we left the condo and giving it to the less fortunate.
