“The Best In Punta Mita”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 31, 2014

This is simply the best restaurant in the Punta Mita area.
Casa Teresa is superb - handmade pasta that rivals the food in Italy. Couple that with the personal service delivered by owners Teresa and Nadia, and the gorgeous, characteristic setting - it cannot be surpassed. Don't miss this gem - it's worth a drive up from Puerto Vallarta or down from Sayulita.

“A little confused”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 25, 2014

I had a chance to dine at this restaurant during spring break. The food, ambiance and beautiful family and staff was excellent. Im not sure where these other people commenting on here have eaten as this place is top notch! I have tried other restaurants in this area and nothing compares to the food and service at casa t's! And yes its FAMILY service you will be attended by mother daughter and son inlaw so if you dont like that kind of thing then maybe this is not your type of dinning experience, as of kids i travel with my children and casa teresa s is very accomidating towards children. So if you are in the area do not miss out this is the real deal its not no fish hanging on a stick !

“Great setting, dreadful food.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2014

Hard to beat the atmosphere at Casa Teresa. You walk into a house yet end up eating outside under the stars surrounded by very interesting architecture. I wish I could say the food was anywhere near as good as the ambiance.

While the recipes (as the owner says) where handed down from earlier generations of their family, something must have gotten lost in the translation. The sauces we had on the pasta dishes were flavorless and "dead". Service was slow and one has to wonder how anyone could say this restaurant represented good Italian food.

Thank you for your detailed review. We are pleased you enjoyed our ambiance. In 13 years of operating we have had positive to constructive feedback as you can see from are 100+ other posts, all from loyal repeat to new clientele. That being said we are always open to feedback to better our guests experience.
It maybe that our southern cuisine may not be to your liking if you prefer northern or American fusion Italian, which is fine, however remarks such as "dreadful" is a first and we choose not to comment.

Therefore we are pleased to extend a invite to recreate your dining experience here at Casa Teresa's.

“Beautiful setting - but expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2014

Upon reading the previous 2 review, I thought some detail would be helpful to viewers. This restaurant was recommended to us by many people staying at Hotel Quinta del Sol in Punta de Mita. Reviews were very good and we like italian cuisine. The restaurant is down a rather dumpy side street in town, when we arrived the doors were locked?? Knocked on the door and were greeted by a friendly staff. Most of the seating is in a beautiful outdoor courtyard, nicely decorated. If the decor takes you to an upscale European restaurant the very vocal roosters next door bring you back to small town Mexico. Service was attentive to the point of too many people. After giving our order to the waiter, a non-uniformed staffer came to take our order, as did a young woman, (believe these are family members). I appreciate you are a family restaurant, but a well run upscale restaurant kind of has their act together and does not take your order 3 times, I expect to be served by one excellent and attentive waiter, that is all. Service started with home baked foccacia, which was undercooked on the bottom layer. My appetizer of apple caprese salad was very good, the lasagna was definitely an excellent lasagna, seafood tagliatelle was not over the top. Many people writing reviews have not put any prices in, just so people know, our main meals of lasagna and seafood tagliatelle were 350p each. Glass of Pinot Grigio was 125p. Our meal of 2 appetizers, 2 mains, 1 cocktail, 1 beer, 2 glasses of wine and one dessert came to 1700p with a 10% discount for paying cash, with tip put it to 2000p. We have eaten at several of the top restaurants in Puerto Vallarta and have never paid 2000p for a meal, we were surprised at the cost. In a restaurant that aspires to be in the top leagues, I also expect an amuse bouche to be offered, it is a nice touch. I have read the owners comments to previous posts about recipes from Italy etc and I understand that the dishes are made with love from family recipes. I would be hard pressed in my Canadian city to pay the equivalent of 350p for a pasta dish in our finest restaurant, but where minimum wage is above $10/hour and costs of operation are much higher, it would be easier to understand. This is easier to get away with in the luxury area of Punta de Mita though, so kudos to the owners for figuring this out. As to comments about no kids meals, seriously??? If you take your children to a high end restaurant, THERE IS NOT KIDS MENU, HELLO!! Was surprised to see a table with 5 children when we were there, this is romantic fine dining restaurant which does not cater to the culinary tastes of 9 year olds and frankly I don't expect to encounter any children at this type of restaurant. Same thing at Sufi, bunch of kids, no kids menu, really all the kids liked was the sand in front of the restaurant. We enjoyed the meal and the setting, didn't appreciate the onslaught of staffers and in the end I think the roosters were trying to tell us something.
