“Trip of a Lifetime...FS Punta Mita is pure perfection!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 14, 2009

So this was our anniversary trip and we traveled with our BFF's and it was their anniversary as well..

We arranged the FS shuttle from the airport to the hotel..It was in the van and it was just fine. The driver was Fabulous and gave us lots of tips. We stopped off for some Coronas for the drive and that was fun as well.. Upon arrival you are given a Conga drink by Estefan. This place is a compound. Completely safe. And this is coming from a neurotic mother of 2 that never would leave them with anyone but family. But this was our first trip ever without them.. So gorgeous, clean, perfection and beautiful. Then you are wisked away to your perfect room. Huge, clean, gorgeous. And off we went to the pools.. Wow! Infinitiy pool is just amazing overlooking the Pacific, the lazy river was so fun, the adult pool was empty.. It is hard to put into words this resort. No one was there while we were there. We were the only adults in the pool, did not see kids till Sat. We were their for 4 days. The pool attendents are right there before you set your book down to cover the chair in a towel and then water. Amenities on the hour starting at 11 am from smoothie, ice cream, tea, and all kinds of goodies..
Food wise the pool bar is amazing. Great platter for 2 that is so good and "Mexican!" Just ask for hotter salsa. They would bring us fresh chopped chilis. As someone who loves Mexican food this place hit the nail on the head at the pool bar..
And Ketsi for breakfast was fantastic. Just ask and you shall receive. They only want to please you. The golf carts are wonderful, they become your BFF's.. If I could go back I would tomorrow. And both beaches are completely swimmable.. And the sunscreen stations were my favorite, at every spot there it was from 15, 30, 45, 50 and 70. And just bottled water galour, really they do not nickel and dime you here. It is luxury and perfection.. St. Regis is down the road with other hotels. Hands down FS is the place to stay. Punta Mita is Heaven on Earth and they only want to make you happy. Best service ever!

I recently travelled with 14 family members to the Four Seasons Punta Mita. Not only was the resort breath taking in its natural beauty, I was extremely impressed with the service and the quality of the food. Just ask for Alberto on the quiet Hammock beach (named by the kids) and he would be happy to provide you with Hagen Daze ice cream at 3 p.m. every day - 6 different varieties to choose from!!!! This place has everything. If you wish the local town is quite interesting with great new restaurants. The golf.....well....all I can say is #3b. You will never forget it!

I selected this trip for my wife as her birthday gift. She was very pleasantly surprised and thoroughly enjoyed it. Let me start from the beginning. I paid the excessively high chartered van to pick us up from the airport. We must have looked totally Gringo "Four Seasons type" as a person walked up to me and asked if I was Mr. X for the Four Seasons. They took our luggage. Gave us the chilled towel to wipe off and the bottle of cool water. 45 min. later we arrived to be greeted by name. They took us around on the golf cart to show us where things were. The room was immaculate. The champagne and cake wishing her Happy Birthday were set.
In general, the hotel was deserted. We can only guess why, Swine flu scare, economy, June a slower time.... . It was a mixed blessing. We got extra special care, yet sometimes it's nice to "people watch." Essentially there were no more than about 12 people maximum by the pool and only a handful by the beach. On the immaculate beach, they set up a towel over the chair, brought us a container of ice with bottled water, small cups of iced water. Every 45 min or so, we were brought something.... Hagen Daz ice cream, Frapuchino (sp?), lemonade...
We took advantage of their Tequila class. They had a powerpoint lecture for the 6 of us who showed up. He served a lot of the top tequilas. Essentially about 15 bottles and as much and many as you wanted to try (the expensive stuff.)
The best kept secret was the cooking class. This was $90 per person. As the place was deserted and my wife enjoyed cooking, the chef took 5 hours with us! He brought out reserve white wine, extra appetizers, gave us a behind the scenes' tour of the kitchens.... Really made the trip wonderful and special.
What else can I say?
GO, RELAX and Enjoy.

We are frequent guests here (Residence Club owners) and I've written a couple of reviews. As I can't find a better place to share this, I figured I'd write another review!

We are currently here at Four Seasons. as you might expect, it is quiet. But, things are picking up. We arrived last weekend and people are continuing to arrive for summer. Everything is exceptional, as usual, but you can tell that they've cut back on the stafff due to the slowdown with travel in general. Aramara was closed for dinner, as well as Ketsi as Ketsi continues to upgrade it's space. It was a welcome thing though, becasue we took advantage of several new dining options since we last arrived.

Oh my, what an improvement in the "scene" here!!! The St. Regis is GORGEOUS, as are the restaurants- we tried Las Marietas for lunch. Exceptional, attentive service. The whole resort is wonderful, very different than the F.S. The other restaurants, Sea Breeze and Carolina look great, too. We saw literally one other couple in the whole resort. I hope things pick up for them soon and we are thinking of splitting our time and staying a couple days over there our next visit. It is just so different than the F.S. and a nice change of pace.

Our favorite, favorite place of all though, is the restaurant SUFI which is attached to the Portofino resort and beach club. To me, this is the best food of ANY PLACE in the resort!!! Wonderful setting, exceptional service and an innovative yet simple menu. I could eat here every day. IT is a mediterranean menu with warm bread, sauteed calamari to die for, shrimp risotto, paella- the whole menu is exceptional and the kids (6 and 8) had so much fun just playing at the pool and beach after they finished their dinner of pesto ravioli- on the kids menu!!!!

i can't talk enough about this place- I'd write a review in the restaurant section if it was there yet!!!

Anyway, there are some wonderful, unique restaurants now in Punta Mita and while Bahia will always be on our "must do" list, we'll now be trying many more options!

"In June 2008, Four Seasons Golf Club Punta Mita was named the number one golf course in the world by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler. The Nicklaus-designed course is set amid vistas of white-sand beaches and the surrounding Sierra Madre Mountains. Spread over 81 hectares (200 acres), the course takes full advantage of its seaside location. Eight holes border either the Pacific Ocean or Banderas Bay, and offer views of whales during seasonal migration.

Hole 3B, dubbed “The Tail of the Whale” is the world’s only natural island green. The Punta Mita peninsula’s tropical landscape of palm trees and flowering trees add to the pleasure of playing this golf course, which is challenging for experienced golfers yet friendly for the beginner."

The above is copied from the Four Seasons, Punta Mita web page, and although obviously favoring the Four Seasons, is absolutely true. As the owner of two properties in Punta Mita, the golf courses at Punta Mita are in a class all by themselves. Conde Neste doesn't dish out "No. 1 in the world" cavalierly. Punta Mita is one of the most special places you will ever find. The hotels, Four Seasons and the new St. Regis, are also in a class by themselves. Anyone is bound to have an issue or two when traveling, however, I can assure you, the natural beauty, golf courses, and hotels are like nothing I have ever experienced. I encourage anyone to visit this very special place in the world.

We really enjoyed our trip to FSPM. We have been looking forward to staying here for quiet a while and were not disappointed. As we like a bit of an adventure after flying in to Puerto Vallarta we rented a car for the drive to the hotel. The one mistake we did make was not getting clear directions as to the entrance to the hotel. The drive from PV was fine however when we got to Punta Mita we could not find the hotel. There are no signs to the entrance (on purpose I am assuming give the recent security issues and guest safety is obviously very important) so if you do drive make sure you have the correct information. As this was the only issue we had (self-inflicted) we were very happy with our experience. Once inside the grounds (which is also shares with the St. Regis and other developments) it is a nice drive to the hotel where we were greeted with cold towels and beverages. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, the front deck/check-in was detailed and our bellman gave us a tour of the property in the golf cart before we went to our room so we could get a feel for the property.
The rooms were spacious and well appointed, not brand new but very clean and had everything you could want. Staff were happy to shuttle you around the resort and were always available.
We had lunch at Bahia upon our arrival and was excellent, very fresh seafood with a great setting by the beach. Another day we had lunch at Tamai (Adult Pool - which is a great option for some downtime away from kids and water aerobics) which was good, both breakfast and dinner at Aramara which were good and appetizers one night at the Aramara Bar (?) which was one of the best meals. We had dinner at Ketsi the night it re-opened and enjoyed a very nice dinner with a great view.

The golf course is good, some holes typical of a resort while others were a challenge and unique. The staff especially the gentleman who was the setting up the carts (starter) was so helpful. Across the resort very employee makes sure your stay is enjoyable. The beach is fantastic, we loved our walks with very few people around. Lastly as they saw when we checked in that my wife was pregnant (7 months) the hotel sent (without asking) support cushions for her back, rollers for her feet, print out's on pregnancy care...

Great experience and we look forward to returning soon with our child.

This was my third trip with my family to the FS Punta Mita. We stayed April 4th thru April 11th and had none of the problems that others have had. We were in a garden view room in the Oasis building...no complaints here about the cleanliness. Also as this is one of the newer buildings, the verandas are much bigger. The service is possibly the best at any resort we have been to and we travel quite a bit. Every employee strives to make your stay the most enjoyable it can be. The new policy of reserving chairs at the Nuna pool was nice as we were able to reserve chairs for the whole week. The staff was very attentive to not allow guests to over reserve chairs. For example, if you were a family of four, you could not reserve four chairs in the sun and four in the shade. Also if you had chairs reserved and did not arrive until 10:30 or 11:00am, then your chairs are given away. I think this is a fair way of keeping abuses to a minimum. They have added day beds on the beach which can also be reserved. If you are worried about costs this is not the place for you. You get what you pay for...and what you get here is a first class resort and first class service. This is a great resort for families as the FS had not only the Kids for All Seasons program, but a teen program as well. As most of the schools in the U.S. have vacation before or after Easter, you would expect to see many families traveling at this time. Any other expectation would be nuts. Dinner at Bahia was good but not great as the menu had changed since the last visit. The view is outstanding and almost makes up for any culinary missteps. At Aramara we had a great tasting menu one night that was out of this world. If you want to get off the property for dinner try Vito's, Cafe Des Artiste and Villagio all in the little town of Punta de Mita. I would recommend them all.
