“this is the real mexico!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 5, 2012 via mobile

you could spend a lot of time in this gorgeous plaza: people watching, having a coffee or an icecream, browsing in the many stores, or watching "la danza de los viejitos". Very clean, and very authentic. It is fantastic to stay in one of the hotels sorrounding the plaza, especially in december by the time of "posadas", which are celebrated in a very traditional way in this town.

“Shops, cafés, dancers, grass!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 7, 2012

It was clean, well taken care of (the grass was green and mowed!), and the shops, cafés, and ice cream and crêpe vendors gave the viejitos and indigenous dancers a colorful background.

“Heaven on Earth”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2012

This may be the most beautiful plaza in a nation famous for its beautiful plazas. It has the exactly right elements, the ideal size (you can spot a friend across the plaza), and the flowering plants and ancient trees and thick, green grass are well-cared-for. It is really a plaza where the people go to enjoy life. The benches are mostly soft-drink-spill-free and there is next to no garbage in evidence. What more can be said?
