“Good picnic spot”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2013

We enjoyed sitting down in the sun and watching all the groups at the picnic area. There were many big group parties with pinata's and lots of food. It was a short walk from our B&B. We did bring a picnic and ate it sitting on the benches facing the lake. There were many strolling vendors with sweets or food who were not pushy or rude. All the vendors were polite and their products were equally enjoyable.

“Great views”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2013

It's a nice stroll when the sun isn't hitting too heavily. I remember this area before the malecon was built, and it's definitely an improvement. The views of the lake are spectacular and the area around the path is kept quite clean. There are swing sets for kids as well. Vendors selling snacks and indigenous textiles are also present during the day. The only negative is that one is reminded of how polluted the lake is by walking alongside it. It's not suitable for swimming at all.

“Beautiful Views”

Very clean and well maintained. Now if they could just get a restaurant to survive. To see a horse and variety of birds there was amazing.

“What a difference landscape and walkways make!”

The Malecon is a wonderful place to stroll and relax, either after lunch or dinner, or for a morning exercise walk. The beautiful lake is lovely!

“lakeside”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013

The malecon in Ajijic is a paved boardwalk with the lake on one side and the park, playground, fitness circuit, skate park, and trails on the other. A whole lot for about 1/2 mile long. It is safe, well patrolled by the police and well used by young and old.
