“great venue for food and music”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 31, 2012

this is a sophisticted bit of city in a small village-nightclub aatmosphere
Decor is definitely a mix of cosmopolitan and Mexican
The music is some of the best available,
Food is very good though the portioning is gourmet-(smaller than the norm) A hungry gourmand would definitely want one of every offering.
Service is impeccable-drinks very generous-

“Fun place, great food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 28, 2012

This is my favorite restaurant in Ajijic. If you are looking for cheap, this is not the place to go--there are plenty of mediocre, cheap restaurants in Ajijic. No. 4 serves beautifully presented, tasty meals that rival any restaurants I have eaten in around the world. I love their gorgonzola salad and sauvignon blanc wine. A really great night when Gaylen and Fourplay are playing there.

“Exceptional”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012

Number Four in Ajijic is an exceptional restaurant in this Lakeside community. They have a great daily menu that could compete with New York's best. Then, they bring in international chefs with his or her separate menu. My wife and I have been there many times together, and at times with friends and have never had regrets. They have a top notch wine list and bar. And on the weekends, there is good jazz entertainment in the bar. When in the Guadalajara area, come to the Lake Chapala town of Ajijic and treat yourself . . . and you'll thank me.

“Unique flavours, great technique, great service and management”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 24, 2012

We've been to Number Four several times recently, and have been impressed both time. The upstairs section (the big palapa) offers a beautiful, peaceful, romantic setting while downstairs is more a bar/bistro feel. The shrimp cocktail is one of the best I've had - shrimp is grilled and comes with a delicious, fresh salad - and this is one of the only places I know in the area with seared fois gras, one of my favourites. Mains: I absolutely LOVE the shortrib as it is so tender and comes with a very tasty polenta; while one of my colleagues, who normally does not like fish, could not stop eating the Baja California Pargo. The sticky ribs are also amazing, and the jerk pork tenderloin is perfectly cooked and seasoned. I've also tried the duck confit, and it too is delicious. Dessert - I've tried both their peanut butter and their ginger creme brulee, and each one was delicious. Service has been wonderful - the management, between Kim, the owner, and Mariano, the GM, the restaurant has a team that is so warm and welcoming.

“Fabulous!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 12, 2012

Five of us - each something different and we could not believe how fantastic the food was! A beautiful setting upstairs, great service and variety in the gourmet offerings. Would go back in a minute if we get the chance.
