“Fine dinning in Valle de Guadalupe”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 25, 2013

We stopped here for lunch on a very hot August day. The folks at Encuentro were all very nice and welcoming. We had several plates of local cheeses, beets and the caprese salad. The food was excellent.. I would also recommend the sangria which was absolutely tasty and refreshing. The boys enjoyed some locally brewed beer which was served icy cold.

The architecture of the building and view are amazing. Great place to stop and eat while touring the valley. We will be back soon.

The attention and service is great, yet the logisitic to get to and from your room is a bit complicated.
You cannot take your car to your room instead you have to request the hotel transportation to take you up. We went to the wine festival this year and if we had an hour or so break between one event and another, going to the hotel to rest was not an option since we knew that by the time we got up to the room, and considered time needed to get back down, we'd only have a short space of time to rest. Also, the rooms don't have drawers so we live out of our suitcase the entire time we were there which isn't fun.
Other than that, it was a good experience.

Encuentro Guadalupe seemed to be a good idea: a terrific location, and for that kind of money the experience would be outstanding.

Wrong.

The website clearly states that this is a kind of camping experience, thats alright, and that is the reason why i don't complain about the facilities. Rooms are good, beds and sheets are great and the pool, and furniture are ok too.

But service.
That is the issue.

It is unthinkable i had to wait 90 minutes for a salad and a sandwich, and that i had to do most of the table service each time i had a meal.

The Hotel staff is not trained at all, and you can tell that for the way they respond to all of your petitions: "i don't know... that is not included... we are out of that... sorry for our timing, but we are short in staff..." and so on.

last, the manager.

This person seemed to be the hotel's "goalkeeper" or at least, that was his attitude.
Instead of taking care of the guests he was taking care of the owner's wallet, blocking and denying many of our requests, and not that kindly i must add.

If you don't mind paying 300+ usd for an experience in which you won't get the value for your money, go for it.

Great service, beautiful location, fantastic buildings and layout "gamping, gourmet camping" as they call it! Food is a bit limited but the most beautiful pool we have ever seen! Cozy, practical sustainable rooms...loved this place soooo much....

THIS PLACE IS AWESOME & AMAZING. It's a bit pricy at 320 American dollars a night but it was such a unique and beautiful experience. The rooms are spacious considering that they appear to be so small set up against such a vast setting. The free continental breakfast was delicious and the fruits were very fresh & sweet. We were greeted on arrival with 2 complimentary sangrias that were made using the grounds' own wine from their vineyards. We also had dinner one night and the food was amazing. Furthermore, I can't stop gushing about the infinity pool that brought CHEAP drinks ( 5 dollar margaritas) right up to you while IN THE POOL! To get to your pod you get dropped off by the bellboys/drivers who are constantly on call picking and dropping people off. They were very efficient and extremely polite. Customer Service throughout this entire trip was superb and it's yet another reason Mexico is a divine destination. Furthermore the wine tasting that we did from this location was sensational. We drove one day from 10 am to 6pm to about 12 different wineries and it was phenomenal. HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE. Worth every penny! There's some pretty nice trails so bring some tennis shoes.

Room Tip: Every room will offer an amazing room!

5 of us drove down from LA - about 5 hours - the last 2 hours along the Mexican Baja coast. Lobster lunch on the way at Rosarito was very tasty and inexpensive. The staff at Endemico were friendly, the cocktails by the pool delicious and the rooms/ setting very relaxing. The view over the vineyards was panoramic - and the setting reminded me of Provence. Eco resort with lots of small animals and birds to be seen along the paths. Memorable but needed a lot more time to explore the wines and food of the area.

Didn't eat at the hotel, but at the extremely tasty and innovative Corazon de Tierra attached to a boutique hotel called La Villa del Valle. Slow food paired with excellent local wines, and very knowledgable and helpful staff.

A long way from Australia but want to visit again.

Hello there,

We simply wanted to reach out and thank you for sharing your Encuentro Experience; indeed Australia is very far away and we appreciate you including us in your itinerary :-)

We're not sure if Quantas will be offering direct flights to Ensenada anytime soon but we look forward to hosting you again should your travels bring you back to Baja!

Kind regards,

June 8, 2013, Saturday - Arrived early in the morning with the intention of pre-viewing the property for a future visit. Greeted by parking attendant and we were told where to park. Had the reception area and the bar area to ourselves at 10 a.m. – wonderful view of the valley. I had a map that I found on the internet. The bar tender, Cesar, gave us a far better map of the Ruta del Vino. We talked about my list of wineries - compared notes on where to go and what to see. Had a wine tasting – we liked the Chardonnay. Non guests are not allowed to view rooms or the pool area – good rule - I’ll appreciate that when I stay here. Excellent first impression, nice staff, very pleasant atmosphere, great vibe – will return and stay here before the end of the year.
