“Left me speechless”

To say my sweetheart and I enjoyed our stay at this auberge would be a great understatement. Patricia and John are incredible hosts. Not only was the auberge amazing in itself, but the food prepared by John was unbelievablly delicious. Add to that a perfectly romantic setting, a beautiful terrace with pool and a welcoming dinningroom. It was difficult to leave for our daily excursions. I would like to thank Patricia for her amazing hospitality during our visit. Her knowledge of the surrounding area, specifically the vineyards, greatly improved our visit. I would and will recommend this auberge to anyone passing through Sutton. I guarantee that we'll be back soon and for years to come!

This was our first time staying at the auberge - but I had read such favourable reviews on trip advisor that I knew I wouldn't be disappointed! My husband and I were in the area for a weekend - knew we would be out visiting family for much of it, but we wanted a nice quiet spot to retreat to. We booked room #4 - spacious with a sitting area, lots of closet space, super clean, modern bathroom and a private deck out the back overlooking the garden. The room was quiet and we both slept like babies. We were able to enjoy the pool each day - perfect temperature, full sun on the deck! The food was amazing. Chloe and Patricia were the servers for all of our meals - they were friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. The breakfasts are plentiful and delicious with a buffet to compliment the hot portion. Dinner was spectacular. We enjoyed some local wine on the terrace to watch the sunset and then moved into the charming dining room for our meal. Local ingredients comprise most menu options. It was fabulous. John is a gifted and conscientious chef! I know it sounds crazy, but even the carrots were unlike anything I have tasted before. So good! We are already planning our next trip back.

Room Tip: choose room 4 - I don't know what the others looked like, but this one was fantastic!

This was the third stay for my partner and I. As usual, the ambiance was romantic and homey, the service graceful and of course, the food was amazing. John and Patricia were destined to host. This won't be near the last time we return. We're lucky to have found such a perfect place.

This was our third stay at the auberge and again Patricia and John met all of our expectations. The newly renovated rooms are spacious, tastefully decorated and very comfortable. The older rooms are a bit tight, but very clean and comfortable. When booking it is really worth taking the meal plan, as the food from John's kitchen is incredible and his use of local fresh ingredients adds to the experience. They are always available for advice on local activities and interests and even helped with the bookings. Their personal touch will always bring us back. Great value for money, see you soon, regards from Namibia.

We were coming up from New York to get away from it all. From start to finish (accommodating our needs to the pleasant rooms to the varied and the superb dinners) this was the perfect get-away. If you have a chance stay in the Patio Room - it is very pleasant and has a modern decor. The other rooms are a bit on the 'older side' but hey - combine this with a night or two in Montreal and you have a beautiful setting for good memories.
Service and the care by the owners is outstanding as you would expect from the other descriptions.
Mont Sutton is two minutes away - and the center of town about 5 minutes.
Go for the Package Price "deal" - with ski pass etc. it is a good deal altogether.
Consider booking as many dinners as you can - they are superb.
They offer massage from a skilled massage therapist - during certain times - book it
Enjoy!

Room Tip: Go for the Patio Room if available -

Discovered the Auberge when skiing at Mont Sutton last year, a local on the chairlift raved about Friday's Fish and Chips special. We went, were blown away and returned again the next night. The food is delicious, really a big cut above. When planning our trip this year, staying and eating at the Auberge was a "no brainer". Patricia and John (the Chef) run a wonderful inn. Warm friendly attentive service and again the food was memorable. As stated by other reviewers, the rooms on the second floor are small, but clean, neat and functional, all you really need to crash after a day on the slopes and a wonderful dinner. Breakfasts were also excellent, blue berry pancakes, perfectly scrambled eggs, fruit, juice, cereal etc... We opted for a 3 night package (during the week) which included, 3 breakfast, 3 x 3 course Table d'Hote, dinners including tips. Patricia and John are always there, adding the personal touch. Already looking forward to next year's trip. Mt. Sutton is a great ski hill, the Auberge is a hidden gem. Hard to imagine anybody cooking any better than John, in the vicinity. Go and enjoy.

Room Tip: If you'd like a bit more space suggest looking into a ground floor suite.

My wife and I with a small group of friends stay at des Appalaches every February for a week of skiing on Mont Sutton. We have stayed at other inns and hotels in Sutton over the last 20 years, and this is the best. The dining alone is worth the stay.; it's reputation draws diners to the restaurant section from as far away as Jay Peak in VT.
We do not require luxurious lodgings so some may find the rooms modest. We find them moderately sized, comfortable & clean. Hosts John and Patrice are born innkeepers with their warmth and hospitality. The dining room serving staff have been excellent. The kitchen has been very flexible in accommodating special food needs, e.g., vegetarian alternatives, gluten free breads. The package prices are reasonable, and the inn conveniently arranges lift ticket reservations with the mountain for many of them.

Room Tip: The even-numbered rooms on the second floor are almost directly over the kitchen, so if you are a sl...
