“Stunning views and super friendly!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 31, 2011 via mobile

This charming B&B is ideal for a relaxing stay in Charlevoix. It's ideal for couples or groups of friends. The breakfast served is really amazing and one of the highlights of a stay here but I highly recommend this place for it's location, views and friendly service.

The rooms are clean and quaint. It's got nice patios where one can relax and catch their breath through most time of the day. In my opinion, it's a charming place to stay!

I stayed at this place with a friend of mine for two nights. The location is wonderful for whatever you want to do, going to casino, museums, enjoy nature, restaurants or fantastic St. Lawrence views. The host Jean Luc is very friendly person with a great sence of humor. He prepares unforgetable breakfasts to die for. The rooms are very nicely furniture, some of them with furniture he brought from Italy. You can make reservations for whale watching from this auberge. If your dog doesn't shed and you are ready to pay $5 extra per night, your pet will not have to sleep in the car. We enjoyed cocktails on this lovely porch swing.

We stayed at this B&B for three nights.
The host Jean Luc is very helpful and gives good recommendations about what to do in the region. It was very enjoyable to come back to the house and sit in front of the lit fireplace in the guests' area. The breakfast was very delicious.
We stayed in the De Blois room. It is a nicely decorated room. I found it unusual to have a carpet in the rather small bathroom but apart from that everything was nice.

We loved the Chatelaine. It's innkeeper Jean Luc is an attentive and caring innkeeper. The inn has a wonderful casual old style vibe with a large veranda and views of the River. The dining room has individual tables and the adjoining living room is very comfortable. The breakfast buffets were excellent - a highlight especially for those interested in something more than the typical fare. Our room was lovely however the ater closet was pretty tiny. This inn should be at the top of the rating scales!

We stayed at the Auberge for four nights in the middle of August 2010. The Auberge is run by an Italian with some help from his family. The owner is very welcoming, charming and knowledgeable. The rooms we stayed in provide all the basics expected. The breakfast buffet every morning was wonderful - prepared by the owners Mother, it was a mix of Italian and Canadian breakfast items; and all were wonderful. It provided a great start to the day. We enjoyed the breakfast on the front porch with a view of the St. Lawrence river through the trees.
The Auberge is located centrally in the Charlesvoix region and a great place from where to explore the entire area.

We knew nothing about the Charlevoix area of Quebec and even less about La Malbaie before this summer, but were so glad we had decided to spend a few days here. Even better we chose the Auberge la Chatelaine B&B. The welcome we received here was second to none, the house and rooms were truly delightful ( keeping a traditional style without comprising mod cons) and breakfast was a true culinary experience. Our host Jean-Luc was a real character and could not have been more helpful and friendly. La Malbaie is a delightful town with a very interesting museum and a some great restaurants. The whole area is quite beautiful with interesting and attractive places to visit.
