“Cold food did not meet expectations”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

We were keen and hopeful for a wonderful evening at this beautiful hotel on the lake. This is a very expensive restaurant in the country, with starters about $15.00 and main dishes about $37.00. (We left the teenagers at home). The portions were the smallest we have seen in a long time. The menu is very limited in terms of choice. The food was served cold (we were four). My wife asked to have a lobster ravioli that was a starter as her main course. The starter was two raviolis (small). Her main course had three. They need to update the menu, improve the quantity of vegetables on the plate and serve the food at the right temperature. Great location with potential.

“ripplecove- overrated!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 2, 2013

Beautiful place, serene, peaceful, but overrated for the price.
New Years 2013, we booked 2 nights. $$$$$ . Expecting exceptional food but it was disappointing except for the first night Dec 31st: We ate fresh deer and a squash soup that were amazing. from there it was downhill. husband was always hungry - not enough food--
The NY's eve party was a bust, it took way too long to serve food, on cold plates and a band that was terrible. My soup was cold, 20 min between courses, mostly tasteless except for the dessert.
-THE BAND: The pianist was very good however, the main vocalist had a cold, could not last holding notes, could not project her voice, (we were sitting directly in front of her, ) and the other vocalist/drum player was not worthy of being called a vocalist. (we paid an extra $70per person! for some hors'd'oeuvres 2 glasses of champagne and the band)
Listed for activities is skating: with our cold blast of weather-there was no reason not to have cleared a nice spot to skate. I was looking forward to that romantic first skate of the year! The skates stayed in the car. very disappointing.
Listed for activities was dog sledding: sorry not available! very disappointing.
Thank gold for the horse drawn wagon, the absolute save of our trip---
The hot tub was ok but not hot- outdoors, they need to be nice and toasty-- we only went in once. The unit was prefab commercial quality (not good).
overall: not a returnable!

“Manoir Hovey's sister”

More American in style and food choices, it is none the less a great experience. The food is delicious, the staff gracious, the accommodation comfortable.
