“Will definitely come back!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2012

We stayed here for 3 nights in suite #26 and was really beautiful. We had a large terrace facing the lake. The view was amazing. This suite is located in an annex building a few feet from the main building. So quiet, so peaceful, romantic, perfect for relaxing. The area near the annex is really beautiful with the chairs and the dock extending in the water. As for the dinner, we had the pleasure of eating dinner on the outside patio for 2 nights. The food was excellent and the view absolutely magical. The patio is located really close to the water which makes you feel connected with nature. The breakfast was also very good. You expect the food to be good as this is a four-diamond restaurant. The hotel is so charming and the service is very good. Friendly, professional staff without being stuffy. Room was expensive but well worth it. The 2 only drawbacks are related to the bed: only a queen bed which is rare for a suite, and there was no duvet, only blankets (not typical of a 5 star hotel). But again, nothing is perfect, we would definitely go back, can't wait!

Room Tip: Would definitely book suite #26 because of the view and the quietness. Being in the annex was great.

Just came back from a 2 day stay at the Ripplecove. Just perfect. Food is excellent and the staff very attentive. Gorgeous wine cellar. Views of the lake are very relaxing.
I saw a review that says that the food is pretentious. Not sure what that means. I found it refined and inventive. We will return.

Beautiful location, stunning views and lovely room. The service was a little hit and miss though - a simple request seemed to be a big deal. Some staff were decisive and efficient but others a little drippy which I found annoying.

The food was a little pretentious too - chocolate with cooked breakfast is a little naff surely?!

The area surrounding the hotel was so tranquil and peaceful - a great escape from the city.

Ripplecove inn is located on the lake in Ayers Cliff, Quebec. Just 15 minutes from the Vermont boarder it is easy to reach and lovely. Just a great place to relax and enjoy. Breath taking views of the lake, wonderful staff, and fine dining make this a wonderful place to stay. We stayed in room 38, a beautiful suite we booked through Luxury Link. The suite was less than booking a deluxe room through the hotel.

Room Tip: Corner suites are worth the extra $$$

It has been a longtime since my husband and I were away - long overdue.
It is relaxing, the staff are so friendly.
The food is yummy! And so much to do or very little - it is your choice!
I discovered a wine here Pouilly Fume a private import. Really good sauvignon blanc. Dinners are amazing outside on the patio and you have to book early to get a great seat! Can't wait to come back!

We went there after staying at Manior Hovey just to take a look at the layout and for future reference as we both enjoy the area so much.
The receptionist was so nice super friendly was enjoying showing a room etc, she had tried to get a college on the phone to show us the complex but was not able to, so she explained a few things and of we went looking around, we went done to the restaurant just to look the owner was there very rude to us told us its not open and to leave, we tried to explain but he wasn't interested in listening and then we heard him call the reception and tell her in a way why are you allowing "new guests" to work around !
In the hotel industry l would consider you have to be at least nice friendly to people.
Its a shame as we have read reviews of this hotel and the location was nice.
I will not return l don't need that type of attitude from anyone.

This inn has it all: it is romantic, restful, and elegant without being stuffy, it has friendly staff, a wonderful restaurant, swimming pool and other facilities, and is delightfully located on a beautiful Canadian lake.

The rooms have all been renovated in recent years, to a very high standard, and they are impeccably maintained. The restaurant – with its wine cellar – deserves its excellent reputation. In addition to the delicious food and the professionalism of the servers, its location next to the lake is enchanting. We were fortunate during our stay in the height of summer to be able to eat out on their patio several times, with the waves of Lake Massawippi lapping two paces from the tables. It was an unforgettable experience.

The swimming pool on the spacious Inn grounds is another great feature. It is idyllically situated among towering pine trees, and we usually had the place virtually to ourselves.

A short walk down from the pool takes you to the beach where you can have a different but equally pleasant swimming experience. Fortunately for inn patrons, there is a fleet of new watercraft, mainly easy-to-use kayaks and rowboats. We had fun trying them out and heading around the point of land past some impressive cottages to the Inn, which is very picturesque in its understated way when seen from the water. Typical of the trusting and laid-back atmosphere of the establishment, the boats are left on the beach unattended all day – there is not even a sign-up sheet; you just help yourself and start paddling or rowing. (Next time, we want to try the sailboat that’s also available.) As a Canadian currently living abroad in a place where things are very different, I found this relaxed ambiance very gratifying and attractive.

An elderly member of our party – who did not participate in water activities – relished her time in the deck chair of the upper porch, looking through the trees to the beckoning lake. She also enjoyed strolling along the lawn to admire the lush and well-maintained flower beds of perennials near the entrance to the inn.

This was our third stay at Ripplecove, the first being 12 years ago. The charm and spirit of the place remain intact, and the facilities have been continuously improved, with the addition of a number of rooms and the spa, and the renovation to a high standard of all the other rooms. This establishment is a rare gem. We hope to return.

Room Tip: Lake view rooms are obviously preferable, but Room 20 (overlooking the lawn and flowerbeds at the ho...
