“Family friendly on pocket book and dining”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2013

If you don't want the muss and fuss of fancy dining options, this is the place to go with the entire family. Everyone will find something they like to eat. it's no-nonsense which makes it an Island favorite for locals to just grab a bite. I haven't been in awhile, but when I lived on PEI...I loved coming to chez yvonne's because I always knew what to expect.

“All around terrible”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed July 7, 2013 via mobile

First of all do to reviews on trip adviser we made the mistake of choosing this restaurant. We were greeted but not with a smile sat at a table and waited twenty minutes to recieve glasses of water in dirty glasses then waited another twenty minutes for a waitress to come and take our order (this with two small children ).I chose to order the clam dinner for 17.99 being from N.B and loving fried clams well let me tell you gross.First thought was wow a plate of fries (frozen bought bland fries at that ) I counted the clams on my plate 10 clams but thought well maybe they are yummo ummm nope light batter no taste other then mouth fulls of sand the veggies were like rubber . To make matters worse we didnt even get a how was your meal nothing this was the first time we have been to restaurant where all of our plates were down right gross.I actually wanted to let tourists going in as we were coming out not to waste their money eeek :-\

“Disappointing”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed July 2, 2013

After checking the reviews on trip advisor we decided to try this place. To our disappointment it's nothing more than a family restaurant which happens to be in the tourist area on PEI. I ordered fish and my husband ordered salmon we were both not happy with our meals. Vegetables were severely overlooked, gravy was obviously store bought (possibly even from a can), and the $18 salmon wasn't nearly as good as what we have ordered in the past from a chain restaurant back home.
Won't eat here again.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience at our place. Thank you for your comments about the vegetables we are now offering fresh carrots and turnips. Our gravy is definitely homemade we cook turkeys here daily and make our gravy from the stock they are cooked in, I am thinking it may have been to thick that day. Again sorry and maybe some day you will try us again.

“Bustling restaurant with great service and tasty food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 24, 2013

We went for dinner on a Tuesday night. The restaurant has a casual but friendly atmosphere. It was not a busy night. We had a booth, comfortable for four. Our waitress was attentive through the whole experience. We had one member who is gluten intolerant, and the staff members were very ready to point out options and they had gluten free bread and buns for their sandwiches/burgers.

We all had the seasonal/special Dine Around menu, a 3-course meal for $25, which included bread rolls with butter, a shrimp/prawn entrée/starter with a glass of wine, a main of haddock with lobster sauce with a choice of potato sides and vegetables, followed by a dessert.

For our celiac member, they got gluten free bread, hollandaise sauce instead of the lobster sauce and ice-cream with strawberry coulis for dessert.

The wine was tasty, the courses quite reasonable sizes and all the dishes were cooked with reasonable expertise. The desserts, slices of pie and strawberry shortcake, were quite a good size and tasty. The meal was very filling.

It was my birthday and my boyfriend also got the staff to put some candles in my shortcake and sing Happy Birthday.

Definitely worth a visit if in the area of Cavendish.
