We stayed at the Silverwood for two nights over the long weekend Sep 2012. We booked it over the phone and were eligible for the Sep promotion so the two nights cost $128 total. We had a kitchenette room as that was all that was available. Room was clean and furnishings adequate. There was a smell in the room was quite overpowering and we still aren't really sure what was creating the smell as there was no air freshners in view. The bedding was old and the beds were older. I had to cover my childrens pillows and buy them a blanket because they didn't want to sleep on the pillows and sheets provided. Continental breakfast was available. My husband took the children the first morning and said it was bread, muffins and juice/coffee etc. I ended up making my kids pancakes with supplies I had brought just incase. Overall it was good enough for the two nights we stayed but if I ever had to return I'd want to bring my own pillows, sheets and blankets and that's not something that you should need to do on a vacation!

My wife and I informed the motel that we would be arriving early in the morning when we made our reservations and everything was handled perfect. They even emailed us the evening before to let us know some details upon arrival. Check-in went well and the rooms were well kept and large for an older Motel. The breakfast was adequate and there is a nice pool. The location was my favorite memory of this motel. There is a grocery and gift store with laundry mat across the highway and a nice restaurant next door and the beach is a short drive away. It's also a great base location for day trips.

The hotel has undergone a number of upgrades. We booked the Kitchen Suite with 3 double beds and 1 single. The deck, and covered picnic table were great especially for the warm summer nights, the deck was lovely, with little to no noise from evening fun not penetrating the other bedroom areas. The convenience of the pots, pans and kitchen fridge and stove allowed you to prepare classic meals from home or pick up the groceries when you arrive to suit any family's needs. The space was amazing, could have accomodated 7 people with no trouble. Great washroom facilities with HOT water. Pool area and back yard/play area are within a stone throw and it allows parents to monitor even the smallest children. We enjoyed it and will begin to make this an annual event.

Room Tip: Recommend the kitchen suites. Breakfast are continental, but there is a coffee establishment a few...

We spent one night at the Silverwood. The check in office is a very quaint older home and check in went smoothly. This is an older motel but the room was clean. The heat in our room didn't work well and we ran out of hot water. There was a very basic continental breakfast (currently situated in an unused motel room). They are constructing a brand building for breakfast and expanding the choices. Price was right and convenient to all of the Cavendish activities.

The reservation process was very nice - we called, confirmed over the phone, and were mailed a confirmation, by mail. Upon arrival the service was pleasant and thorough. This is a motel - as such our expectations were appropriate to the situation. Our room had enough space for the three of us and all of the facilities worked as promised. We lijked having a fridge in our room too.

There was an outdoor pool, but we didn't visit it.

The breakfast was basic - bread, fruit, muffins, juice, bad coffee. The usual.

It was very convenient to have a store across the street with all the necessities. The location of the motel was convenient for our stay.

4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 21, 2011

My family and I recently spent a few days at the Silverwood motel in Cavendish Beach Prince Edward Island.
The lobby is clean and looks new and check in was very professional. I was a bit nervous at first because it is a motel unit but it was clean and well laid out. The front bedroom portion looks like every motel room with double twin beds, bathroom and kitchenette. The kitchen area had basic kitchen items that we could make snacks and breakfast.

But the pleasant surprise was that past the kitchen there is another bed room with 2 more beds and a back deck. The deck had a privacy fence and a bbq so we could have a beer and bbq supper in relative privacy. And the deck faces onto a small kids playground and then the heated pool. At night we sat out with friends and the kids played for hours in the field and on the swings and teeter totters.

The motel is located quite close to the Shining Waters family fun park. We walked over in our swim suits one morning only planning to stay for a couple hours and had so much fun we were there until suppertime.

The next day we walked a block in the the other direction to the Sand Spit amusement park and enjoyed their rides. It isn't a big park but had a good selection of items and the kids had a great time.

The rooms are older styled and certainly not fancy but it was very clean and everything was well looked cared for. And the layout and location were fantastic to enjoy Cavendish. Plus the price was pretty reasonable, we tried several locations and they had no vacancy. So we were pleasaed to come upon this option.

The only complaint would be that with a motel room you share walls with people on both sides so it can be a bit loud. There were kids on one side of us that we could hear running around and chatting. It wasn't a problem for us as we were on vacation and weren't trying to get to sleep early.
