My husband took me to Kelseys for my birthday, which happened to fall on a Wednesday. So not so busy. I ordered the lemon pepper shrimp pasta (which also happened to be the special ), my husband had ribs. Waitress Rose asked if I wanted cheese on my bread I said yes sure. She also asked my husband if he wanted his baked potatoe fully loaded, he said no just baked. Well his baked potato came loaded, no big deal. The food came out fast and was tasty. Half way through our meal the waitress put the dessert menu on our table with the comment "save room for dessert". When she returned to find out about dessert I told her it was my birthday and she replied "Happy Birthday, pick something from the dessert menu", so I choose the brownie pops. I know from previous visits that you get a free dessert for your birthday. Brownie pops are wonderful by the way, you get loads. My husband and I could not eat them all. We ended up taking half of them home. When we received the bill, we noticed that both entree items were $1.00 more than the menu price and we were charged for the dessert. We asked Rose about this since my pasta was the special. She said "oh he didn't take that off?" Who was he, the chef?? I always thought the waitress was in charge of her own tickets? Then she said "oh that happened to the other table but they didn't notice". WHAT!! She appologized kind of and said that they were slammed. As I look around the place there was my husband and I, a table of 6 that had just come in, a table of 2 that left shortly after we arrived and a table of 4, how is that slammed?? I then asked her about dessert. , her response "OH I didn't know (after she had wished me a Happy Birthday) but you get the deep fried mars bar for free for your birthday. I reminded her that I had told her about my birthday before I had ordered dessert. She told me that she could give me the deep fried mars bar and it would only take a couple of minutes to make, if I wanted to wait. I told her no since I was already taking half the brownie pops home. We paid the bill and left. I have owned family restaurants and have been a waitress., if this had happened to me I would have taken the dessert price off the bill and apologized. Oh and yeah, they charge $1.00 for fully loaded baked potato and cheese on bread, not a big deal but would have been nice to know beforehand. And my pasta special $2.00 off the $16.99 price but $1.00 added on for cheese on my bread...so great special $15.99...hhmmm. Won't be going back anytime soon. So dissapointed for my birthday dinner, next year will be going elsewhere (The Mill, or the Bridges). I also went home and filled in the survey that is on our receipt (which I had to ask for because the waitress kept it) and at the end it asks if you would like to have someone contact you about your experience, I said yes, gave them all the information needed and have yet to receive any response. Since this happened May 1st and it is now May 17th I am still waiting patiently. :)
