I agree, the lunch special are great...but once Lubitsa leaves the quality goes with her.
Most evenings the kitchen is closed @ 9pm so there's no opportunity for a midnight snack.
And while the Belmont offers low prices throughout the year BEWARE of the Canal Days price hikes!
Past visitors will be disappointed to discover that the large patio area has been decreased to 1/4 of it's original size due to the construction of a new kitchen---which is not yet complete.
Menu expansion is expected but this kitchen will need 3-4 employees to run it efficiently. It seems more suitable to a banquet hall than a hotel with limited seating.
I suspect that the famous steam-table lunch specials and chicken-in-a-basket will be replaced once the renovations are complete and a chef is hired.
