I love Coutts. It is located in the old Codes' Mill building which has as inside courtyard with a skylight and some beautiful plants and a water fountain. You can sit at a table in the courtyard area or you can sit inside Coutts which is a charming little ship with some unique decor and some interesting items for sale, such as gorgeous handmade scarfs from Guatemala. The coffee at Coutts is freshly roasted in-store daily and that's why the shop both smells terrific and the coffees all taste amazing. They have fair trade coffees and the owner and his wife have been very involved in traveling to countries where the beans are being grown and taking part in projects such as the Guatemala Stove Project, so when you shop here you know you are supporting good causes. The staff are all super friendly and there is even a reward program where if you buy so many (8 I think?) cups then you get a cup of coffee free. The food is always good and some of the baked goods even come from the local bakery (Sunflower Bake Shop which has amazing food). This is a great place to come and meet a friend for a friendly cup of coffee or tea and it is also a great place to come and bring your laptop and quietly work on a project too. If you don't have a laptop, they even offer web-surfing on some computers they provide there. You can't go wrong with Coutts & Company. It's a place you will want to return to again and again, or if you are simply passing through town then you will definitely want to buy some beans and take the amazing taste home with you! :)
