“Best coffee around! Great friendly service.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 18, 2014

I love Coutts. It is located in the old Codes' Mill building which has as inside courtyard with a skylight and some beautiful plants and a water fountain. You can sit at a table in the courtyard area or you can sit inside Coutts which is a charming little ship with some unique decor and some interesting items for sale, such as gorgeous handmade scarfs from Guatemala. The coffee at Coutts is freshly roasted in-store daily and that's why the shop both smells terrific and the coffees all taste amazing. They have fair trade coffees and the owner and his wife have been very involved in traveling to countries where the beans are being grown and taking part in projects such as the Guatemala Stove Project, so when you shop here you know you are supporting good causes. The staff are all super friendly and there is even a reward program where if you buy so many (8 I think?) cups then you get a cup of coffee free. The food is always good and some of the baked goods even come from the local bakery (Sunflower Bake Shop which has amazing food). This is a great place to come and meet a friend for a friendly cup of coffee or tea and it is also a great place to come and bring your laptop and quietly work on a project too. If you don't have a laptop, they even offer web-surfing on some computers they provide there. You can't go wrong with Coutts & Company. It's a place you will want to return to again and again, or if you are simply passing through town then you will definitely want to buy some beans and take the amazing taste home with you! :)

“Great service, a little expensive”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2014

Always pleasant service but sometimes the product is hit and miss. Also, on the more expensive side for a coffee shop. Wouldn't recommend a smoothy as they are either really watery or just too much dairy. Italian soda on the other hand is my go to.

“Great place for coffee but more than that!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 22, 2014

If you haven't been here yet, you're missing out! Not only great coffee but terrific home- made muffins, Eccles cakes and much more, all great quality. Add this to the ambiance of a historical site, complete with covered courtyard, all right beside Stewart Park overlooking the Tay River and you've got an unbeatable combination. Seek it out & try it for yourself, you won't be sorry!

“COFFEE REIGNS”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2013

This is a great place to drink coffee and snack. Loved it. They have good desserts and treats as well and you can eat in the restaurant or go to the enclosed courtyard area which is absolutely charming. There is a lovely gift shop attached on one side and another bar and restaurant attached to the other side in a historical stone building. A beautiful place.
