“Kingsville B&B”

Very clean and enjoyable.
Breakfast was very good - ask Rob to make his famous crepes!
Rob and Connie are very knowledgeable hosts ( re the area and Pelee Island etc ).
A minor shortcoming was there was no television in the ' Monarch ' suite - television viewing was confined to the common area.
Would certainly stay there again.

Room Tip: ....request the brakfast crepes!

Unassuming B&B from the outside. Once through the front door you are pleasantly surprised to see the spacious and lovely interior of the Appletown. Rob & Connie are the hosts who make you feel welcome right away and by the time you leave it will seem like saying goodbye to old friends.

We stayed in the Monarch suite for three nights and were more then happy with the room. Room is at the back of the house overlooking the landscaped inground pool. The large nicely decorated and well equipped room contains a very comfortable king size bed and ensuite bathroom complete with walk-in shower and bidet. Everything clean and spotless. The only negative I could possibly say about our room would be the door sticks when closing ;-)!

Guests have main floor of the house to themselves where they can relax in the living room, chat with the other guests or watch some TV.
Breakfast was always good and filling.

Location central to Point Pelee Park and Island ferry. Also on the winery route. Nice restaurants a short drive away.
Overall everything we needed in a B&B for a pleasant stay.

Room Tip: Choose the Monarch Suite.

An enthusiastic recommendation by friends led us to plan for a two-night “get-away” at Rob and Connie’s Appletown B&B. As a first-time stay, we stepped into a refreshing and relaxing atmosphere. It didn’t take any time to feel “at home.” The accommodations are clean, bright and well appointed. We were encouraged to make good use of all the common areas—-pool, patio, kitchen and lounge. Breakfasts were quite exceptional and we had the pleasure of sharing the morning meal in conversation with the two other guests as well as with our hosts. The whole experience—from arrival to departure--was like enjoying a good visit with caring family. The only cure for not having stayed longer is to return and that we will definitely do.

"It's like an Italian home" said our genial host Rob, as he welcommed my wife and I for a two-night stay at the end of August. "Our guests have full use of the main floor and in-ground backyard pool, while my wife Connie and I lhave the fully-furnished downstairs unit" he explained showing us through their beautifully-furnished B&B, its expansive living room high-lighted by a floor-to-ceiling corner fireplace, three bedrooms to the left, with kitchen and dining room to the right. Two sliding glass door provide access to and excellent views of the very deep backyard behind the one-storey brick bungalow replete with several Italian-style arched porticos enclosing an attractive sitting-out deck at the rear, with steps leading down to the very inviting, azure-blue waters of the kidney-shaped swimming pool below.

Rob and Connie are consumate hosts though only in their second year as B&B operators. Both are very friendly and helpful in accommodating their guests' needs. Breakfasts served to us on both days of our stay were innovative, original, and very tasty. We also got to meet their two Schnausers who usually stay downstairs and hardly barked at all over the two days. In conversations with our hosts, and the other couple staying at Appletown, we learned many interesting things about the nearby Kingsville/Leamington area of South-Western Ontario, as well as about the house we were staying in. They also gave us lots of information on good restaurants and cafes in the area, as well as on nearby key attractions like Pelee Island and Point Pelee National Park (two of the most southerly parts of Canada).

Overall we were very satisfied with our stay. The only thing that could have been improved was our bathroom. Instead of being en-suite, our exclusive-use bathroom was about 15 feet down a common corridor open to the living room, and other guests.

Room Tip: Ask for the room with the en-suite bathroom, if that's important to you.

Such wonderful, welcoming hosts and a great place to stay. Our room was immaculate and our bed extremely comfortable. The pool was so relaxing, especially after all the wine tours. They recommended great places to eat and visit, including a wonderful beach to cool off. So many special touches like the towel warmer, robes, slippers, beautiful gardens and photo opps and of course the gourmet breakfast. It was a totally relaxing experience and we felt very spoiled.

We stayed at the Appletown Bed and Breakfast for our 2nd anniversary. Connie and Rob are wonderful hosts. The bed was extremely comfortable in the Monarch Suite and it felt like you were "sleeping on a cloud". The pool was very clean and the temperature was perfect. The house and rooms are also extremely clean. Breakfast of crepes, bacon, sausages, yogurt and granola and tea/coffee and orange juice was delicious. I would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast for a relaxing getaway. We were close to the many wineries in the Essex region and a short drive to Point Pelee National Park. There is also a delicious sushi restaurant just minutes from Appletown.
