“a reliable choice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

We have stayed here several times and are always pleased. It is comfortable, well located, and with pleasant service.

It could be much more with a bit more attention to detail - although the overall look and feel is high end, the details give it away. Poor and tiny selection of toiletries in the bath, cheap plastic trays, no glasses in the washroom, and no place for soap or shampoo in the shower (soap caddies are easily available!) And although the room was clean, they do not renew soap or shampoo after the first night, often forget things like replacing the bath mat...and we had only one bedside table, not two as we would expect. (there was room)

As well, although the rate included breakfast, and they had some lovely fresh fruit, the rest was pre-packaged airline quality food, including instant oatmeal. Disappointing! Given their price point, we would expect more - their competition offers better value in many ways.

We also noticed that the adjoining Oeno Gallery has much reduced their sculpture gardens and much of it is now weeds. All looks a bit down at heels, which is a shame. This place flirts with becoming first class, but maybe the revenues in the County do not make that easy. Although we drove past Merrill Inn, Waring House and Claramount Inn, all of whom seem to be flourishing and looking better than ever.

I stayed in the wine maker's suite with my husband, my mother and my 2 kids (5 and 8 years old).
The space is good and it was perfect for adults to enjoy the night after the kids went to bed.
Very clean, the service was excellent, and I am very very picky about those!
We will definitely come back again.

We stayed for two nights and, overall, we enjoyed the stay. It's located in a quiet area so you get plenty of peace. The wine is also good and can be enjoyed on the patio. We went on the tour which is very short but quite informative. We went on this as our room wasn't ready at check in. The rooms are lovely and clean. The shower took a while to work out...just pull the dial! You only get toiletries once for your stay but you can have more if you ask at the desk. Breakfast is good and is an opportunity to connect to wifi as it only works in the breakfast room. There's no evening meal on site. We travelled with our two teenagers and we were only recommended the pub at Picton. We're not sure whether the restaurants linked to the inn welcomed younger diners!!!! We didn't eat at the pub in Picton and found a cafe which was just ok. Takeaway pizza from Picton the second night. It wasn't the culinary experience we'd hoped. Overall though, it was a relaxing stay. We can't compare it to other wineries in the area simply because we haven't visited them!

Huff was a nice little place to stay in PEC during our weekend of wine tasting. Service was good (they happily arranged dinner reservation and shuttles for us), and the rooms were clean and tidy, if a little small. The buildings and grounds are quite bizarre - the design is almost like a fortress, lots of concrete, straight lines and flags made it feel more like a compound than a winery. We were impressed by breakfast, which had a great selection (waffles, breakfast wraps, fruit, pastries, bagels, etc.) and nice views. Wi-Fi in the rooms was so slow it was unusable. We received a voucher for a free tasting at check in and were underwhelmed - Huff is one of the more commercial wineries in the region and you felt a lot more like a customer than a guest (as you do many of the other wineries). I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again but might look elsewhere for our next visit. We didn't do a package deal but in retrospect this may have been the way to go.

Just got back from a weekend at the Huff Estates Winery Inn. We were there celebrating an 80th birthday. The rooms were nice, clean and well appointed. The patio area was nice as well but could use some TLC (weeds, some dead shrubs, grass between the stones). The breakfast was excellent, which was an unexpected surprise. We found the service could have been alot better. The check-in process was painfully slow. Our room didn't have any wine glasses - which was strange as we were staying at a winery. Our room package included a $100 dinner coupon and a shuttle service back and forth from the restaurant. The return shuttle didn't arrive and it took us (and many others at the restaurant) at least 30-45 minutes to get in touch with the taxi company. The delay tarnished an otherwise fun night at the Merrill Inn restaurant. Finally, the room was relatively expensive in our view. I would be willing to return to Huff Estates in the future - to enjoy the Prince Edward County wine region - but probably in the off-season.

We recently stayed at Huff Estates and want to share our impression of the Inn. We had a "package" arrangement and feel that we definitely received value for our $. The Inn is situated in a country environment and therefore blissfully peaceful. We were very impressed with the friendliness of the staff. They go out of their way to make your stay comfortable. The rooms are very adequate, clean and the bed very comfortable. There is a small, private patio attached to each room. The package that we had arranged included accommodations, breakfast, dinner vouchers for $100.00 in a selection of very nice restaurants (our choice). There was taxi service included in the dinner reservations, which was definitely an added bonus. I would highly recommend Huff Inn. We thoroughly enjoyed it. The only slightly negative thing I would say is....don't bother with the wine tour. It lasted a total of 7 mins. and was definitely lacking in enthusiasm. The tour was, thankfully free. This didn't reflect our opinion of the Inn, only the winery.

I have stayed here a number of times while visiting Prince Edward County, most recently this past weekend. The location is ideal for visiting wineries and Sandbanks, as well as the charming town of Bloomfield. The service is consistent and pleasant. I like the sunny, windswept spot, which is quiet and lovely in the summer. I just wish they had a swimming pool!
