“A Review of Huff Estates' Accessibility”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 22, 2013

My husband and I stayed for two nights using a Groupon voucher. We found this to be a great deal and a terrific way to be introduced to Huff Estates and all that they have to offer - the winery, the art gallery, outdoor sculptures, etc. I use a scooter for mobility, and although there is an accessible parking space out front, the spot is poorly marked which could lead to someone parking there by mistake. Unfortunately, not all of the entrances are accessible, nor does the front door have an automatic button. Our regular room (Deluxe) was fine for my situation, however they only have one truly accessible room - so if this is necessary for you, be sure to request it in advance. We slept well both nights since the beds were very comfortable and we also loved having the private patio to enjoy sitting outside in the sun! (Unfortunately, the entrance to this patio was not accessible, so I was unable to get out there using my scooter.) The fireplace in the room is a great feature and I could see really enjoying that in the cooler months! The buffet breakfast was very nice - definitely something for everyone. We also appreciated the free DVD movies to enjoy for any evenings that you want to just stay in and relax. The staff was always willing to help and everyone was very friendly. This is a quiet, peaceful location that is clean and centrally located to lots of things to see and do. If you are looking for a truly accessible place to visit, unfortunately Prince Edward County doesn't seem to be advanced in that regard since very few of the shops, wineries and restaurants are accessible.

Room Tip: If you need a truly accessible room (grab bars, roll-in shower, etc.) be sure to request it early si...

5 girl friends and myself spend our 5th annual girls weekends at the Huff and it didn't let us down.. the rooms are wonderful and the beds were comfy and the service amazing. We did the package deal that included the gift certificate for dinner and the shuttle to and from the restaurant.. what more can 6 women want,,, good food, good wine and gorgeous rooms
the only downfall was the lawn care.. I know this may sound silly but they have a beautiful landspace with some potentially beautiful gardens but the weeds were out of control and there was more weeds then grass in the lawn

We had been looking for a last minute getaway for one or two nights and stumbled across this on the internet. We love wine and have done wine tours in Napa and Sonoma and Niagara. I admit I have never tried a Prince Edward County wine before our trip and had pretty low expectations. We couldn't have been more pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. The rooms at Huff are very nice, each has a walk-out patio and the beds are very comfortable. Each staff member we dealt with was helpful and friendly. We did a wine tour with Prince Edward County Wine Tours and our guide John was very knowledgeable and took us to some amazing little wineries. We had a fantastic meal and dining experience at Milford Bistro (about 20 minute drive from Huff Estates) and slept very well (thanks to all the wine). The people in Prince Edward County from the staff at the vineyards, to the hotel staff, restaurant staff and even taxi drivers were incredibly friendly and fun to talk to. We can't wait to plan our next trip back to P.E.C.

Room Tip: From what I can tell all of the rooms are on ground level and have a walkout patio into the same cen...

I recently visited Huff Estates with my husband and we had a wonderful time. We went as part of a Groupon promotion and enjoyed a bottle of wine for each night we stayed, as well as a buffet breakfast, and a wine tasting at a number of local wineries. What a great experience! The room had two double beds, a fireplace, a TV and a small but lovely private patio (where we sampled the wines of Huff Estates in the evenings!) At the front desk you can even borrow DVDs if you would like to watch a movie in your room. The room was small, but roomy, for two people and the spa-inspired washroom was gorgeous! Although there wasn't a bathtub, the ceramic tiled enclosure and rain shower was great. The food at the self-serve breakfast was filling and varied-- and included everything from fresh fruit, to fresh baked goods, Belgian waffles, and cereal. What more could you ask for? It goes without saying that Prince Edward County is a lovely area, and my husband and I explored the hiking trails at McCauley Mountain Conservation Area, Sandbanks Provincial Park, and the quaint town of Picton. Huff Estates even offers a free shuttle bus to the Waringhouse Inn where you can have a good (but overpriced) pub style dinner and live music on the weekends. In addition to all this you get the benefit of a helpful and professional staff, an interesting sculpture garden, and a professional art gallery on site. If you're visiting the County, this is a wonderful place to stay that has a great location and so much more to offer!

Room Tip: A deluxe room is actually a standard, so if you would like a king size bed, ask for the next step up...

If you are looking for a great place to stay and tour the PEC wine country, Huff Estates is a great place to stay. This was our second stay and it was as wonderful as the first. We have only stayed in the standard rooms which are a great size, have 2 club chairs, a flat screen TV, desk, small fridge, patio with a table & chairs, & a shower, no bath tub. (YES I know 2 &'s in a sentence is improper grammar) It would be nice if a few of the rooms had a king or queen size bed instead of the 2 doubles. The staff go out of their way to be helpful & everyone one is really nice. A trait you will find replicated throughout the county. Breakfast is included and you have to try the chocolate waffles! I am a waffle traditionalist and the only choices that should be allowed are bacon or sausages with your maple syrup. Fruit, whip cream &/or or icing sugar are great as a desert, but not for breakfast. I was talked into the chocolate waffle by the hostess and she was right. I tactfully ignored the whip cream in the ice bucket & got the sausages.
On the grounds are the Winery and the Oeno Art Gallery, both are must visits whether you stay here or not. Huff wines are great, and you must try the sparking Rose. PEC is more than just PINOT!
We arrived on Wed., May 22 which was a muggy day which was supposed to have some rain in it. Overnight we had what could only be described as a monsoon. The rain was so hard it woke us up a few times. Thursday was not looking good & I mentioned it to our hostess and the housekeeper. They offered to do a Sun Dance to keep the rain away. While it did "sprinkle" a couple of times while we were driving between wineries, not one drop fell while we were out walking. I know not where they get their power over the rain, but keep it up!
If you are on a wine tasting trip to the country, this location is centrally located. With over 30 wineries in the region, I would select at least one night or 2 like we did. That way you can drive home on day 3.

Room Tip: I did not rate the Sleep quality Excellent as the wall mounted heating/cooling unit was a bit noisy...

We bought a 2 nights package deal for 2 that included a deluxe suite, breakfast, tour of the winery and tasting, a $100 voucher for a restaurant in the County and taxi service to the restaurant and back to the Inn. For $300, great deal! The room was very nice, lots of lovely wood work, style and comfort. The bathroom was very spa like with jacuzzi for 2 and glass-walled shower with body sprayers. Each room had its own small outdoor patio, fenced on the side for privacy but opened to the courtyard. The breakfast was self-serve and it was fun making our own waffles with fruit and whipped cream. Holly (the breakfast queen) was very pleasant, efficient and enthusiastic about the Inn and showed us other rooms that we could consider for a future stay. Very smart! Her fresh baking was very good. The vinery on the other end was quite disappointing. We were not told that tours happened at specific times so when we went we were unable to have a tour. The tasting was a bit of a joke. The young man pouring had no information or enthusiasm about the wines. The sparkling rosé we tasted was flat. We would definitely stay there again when in the County, perhaps in one of the basic rooms which were very nice.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the winery side (west wing) and preferably not on the inner garden side as AC is v...

My fiancé and I tried heading east this long weekend as opposed to the usual Niagara Falls and let me just say, we had a great time! The staff at the Huff Estates were all extremely friendly and accommodating. The package we got was for a one night stay which included a dinner credit with shuttle included, a wine tour of their establishment and breakfast - all totally worth it!

Rooms were furnished beautifully, bed was very comfortable. I have absolutely no complaints about Huff Estates.
