My husband and I had a last-minute weekend getaway at PEC - our hosts Jackie and Gary were very friendly, informative and know the local area very well. Our room was very clean, and the mattress super comfy. Breakfast was ACE - fresh fruit & yoghurt, followed by banana coconut bread then amaretto french toast with slivers of almonds and fresh raspberries! Bloomfield is a fantastic place to be based if you are visiting PEC - Wellington would be my second-choice; Picton feels too commercialized. When in Bloomfield, do check out Slickers Ice Cream (try "campfire" - toasted marshmallows, really unique!) and Kokita for Canadian-crafted goodies. Highly recommended!

Room Tip: You might want to bring your own toiletries eg soap and shampoo if you are fussy, however what was p...

Had another great stay at the Ballyclare B&B. After starting the day with a delicious breakfast we toured the area enjoying the fall scenery. Great wineries, art galleries and local shops. We also took advantage of the local harvest when leaving for home.

After a busy day, the rooms at Ballyclare offer a quiet and private refuge. The rooms are very bright and cheery. Beds are very comfortable, We had a great nights sleep.

The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. They provided great ideas on activities for us and attractions we could visit. They have many pamphlets available for local attractions.

Room Tip: We like the Ocean room although all the rooms are great.

We stayed at the Ballyclare for 2 nights. The hosts were very gracious and accommodating, and made us feel at ease from the moment that we walked through the door. They provided us with area maps and suggested activities. Our room was clean and comfortable, and breakfast was very good (and they were accommodating of my dietary needs). As it turned out, we stayed here during a heat wave and found the air conditioning to be inadequate in our room. While our room was equipped with a ceiling fan, it did little to push the warm air around. However, I'd imagine other B&B's in the area struggle with the same issue during warm weather as many of the homes are 100+ years old. All in all, I found this B&B to be of good value and we would stay here again.

Room Tip: Rooms are on the 2nd floor, but there is a room on 1st floor available by special request (if you ha...

What a fabulous stay. One of the best B&B's we have stayed in. Very comfortable beds in a beautifully appointed room. Great breakfasts with a new and delicious offering each day. The County has so much to offer, we will definitely be back.

Just returned from a beautiful weekend to see the fall colours in Prince Edward County, Ontario, and we can't say enough about the excellent stay we had at the Ballyclare.
Gary and Jackie did everything they could to make us comfortable and informed about the area's best places to visit. Gary also became our winery tour guide for an afternoon, and he knows his wine! He recommended several new places off the beaten path that only a local would know about. The breakfasts were amazing! Homemade french toast with Grand Marnier and a delicious cheese frittata with Canadian back bacon were to DIE FOR and helped fill us up for a long day of exploring the area (with the help of Gary's map, of course). Our room was perfect - comfortable mattresses and our own private coffee/tea area. I would absolutely recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone.

We stayed at the Ballyclare for two nights in July. The house was a very charming older structure, while the room was extremely clean, comfortable and equipped with extra little amenities such as wine glasses and a corkscrew. There was also a fridge and a small assortment of snacks available. The location in Bloomfield made for a quieter time than had we stayed in nearby Picton, but was still easy to find. Parking was arranged such that no one blocked anyone else. The hosts were very friendly and helpful, and the breakfasts were delicious, although we weren't given much in the way of choice. When we return to Prince Edward County, we'll know where to stay.
